Any other brides for Rose Hall Resort?

Recommended Posts

I used a travel agent, and was able to block rooms for about 150 a room. the issue we're coming across is which all inclusive i blocked the rooms with. the agents only get standard (which I didn't realize) and it doesn't include bottled water and all menu items. I need my guests to have these things as i'm sure most would, she's working with them now to resolve it. This is a huge hold back for me sending out my invites (since the rates aren't as final as i thought they were) so let me knwo if you need any other feedback with what i've experienced. My TA is good though, i'm driving her crazy but heck they need bottled water right!

Hey Ladies!

I am back from our wedding at Rose Hall Resort & Spa!!! I haven't had a chance yet to write up my review, but just wanted to let you all know that I am here if you have any questions!!

Although the only day out of the week that it rained was our wedding day and our reception locations was moved into one of the ballrooms instead of the Three Palms Courtyard the day turned out to be perfect! We even received several compliments that it was the best wedding guests had ever been to!! :)

I will try to get the review up sometime this week!

Angie-although it is nice to have the bottled water, it isn't totally necessary, as the water at the resort is completely safe to drink. I know that the 'upgraded' all-inclusive plan was an extra $50 per day per adult. All but 2 of our guests were on the regular AI, and didn't have any problems!

hi JNMo9,

Glad to hear you wedding day was perfect is that your wedding photo show i can see on the sungold webb site, they look fantastic. I'm getting married at rose hall and still trying to decide on where to have my reception and the ball room was one of my options would you reccomend the ball room and did you have plated meals or a buffet.

And do you know if you have to pay for day passes for any guest not sataying at the hotel. x

Hi, all. Catching up with this thread a little late -- I'm most likely having my wedding at Rose Hall resort as well. I have just started emailing with the WC, Natalie about reception pricing. It seems information about that is hard to come by. If anyone would like to share, I'd really appreciate it: ms dot nadia dot taha at gmail

And congrats to Jaime -- next stop on the board is to check if you posted a review or photos anywhere.

Erica, you must have had your wedding by now, no? I hope it was everything you hoped for. Searching for a review from you, also.

Good luck to all, and I'll check back here. I'd like to have a regularly running thread for us RHRS brides.

I'll be going to the Rose Hall resort in October for a planning visit! I'll take lots of pictures and scout things out! Let me know if you have any particulars you are interested in. I haven't decided where to do the ceremony or reception.

Has anyone negotiated the room rates? I finally got a TA and I was surprised at how little of a discount the rate was for a group. I'm interested in how much other brides have seen the rates discounted? I'm happy to trade info i'm tlove41@hotmail

I'll be at the resort the second week of October, I'll be sure to check out both.

I picked my locations yesterday, ceremony on the west lawn and reception on the pool deck! I'm excited it's all feeling real now!

Oh and just to update, I'm happy with the rates my TA has been quoted. thanks TA Maureen, your knowledge is super helpful!

How's it going for everyone? I'm really interested in scoping out some weddings while I'm there, I also want to talk with the florist they use. And, I'm interested in seeing how the food is.

hope all is going well for you Ladies!

T

Rosehall bride--Sorry for taking so long to get back...for some reason I'm no longer getting updates on this thread! Anyway...I was upset that we were moved inside (I was expecting the Three Palms Courtyard), but to be honest it probably worked out better that it was inside. I don't think that it wound up raining during the reception, but it was VERY humid out that night and because we were inside there was AC and everyone danced the night away!!Had I decided on the ballroom from the beginning I probably would have done more for decorations and/or had them do it. (I brought all of the centerpieces from home.)

As for the meals, we actually decided to create our own 'station' menu. It was way cheaper then the predetermined buffet menu and we had a huge selection and the food was fabulous! We went with:
  • Jamaican Jerk Pork Loin Carving Station
    Pasta Station
    Salad Station
    Crudities (fresh veggies)
    Cheese and fruit board
Iced Seafood display (with JUMBO shrimp and crab claws)

Let me know if you have any other questions!

~Jaime

Hey ladies,

Quick question... I'm just wondering how you will set up for your reception. I spoke with Yolandi and she mentioned that we're responsible for setting up our own decor if we bring it (which I'm planning on).

Unless I heard this wrong, I know I don't really want my family or friends having to work on the day of. Are you guys planning on getting a DOC or will you be setting things up yourself?

Also, how elaborate are you planning on getting with flowers?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
