Any other brides for Rose Hall Resort?

Recommended Posts

we were allowed to customise our jamaican bbq reception so chose what we liked and they worked out a pp cost for us :-) my fiance is dealing with the cost side of things but based on 50 guests it wasnt horrendously expensive, I will find out and post.

Hey Ladies,

Just wanted to send out an update. Now that I have rsvp's, I sent an email about changing my menu (I have about 50 people less than I was over estimating would come and now I'm at 80-90) and I wanted to consider making the food a little nicer. Well, because all of my guests are all inclusive, I got a whole different list of buffet menus that are all WAY cheaper + the 24% discount (which nulls the tax). if any one is interested in getting a copy, send me an email and I'm happy to share.

hope your planning is going well!

hi tauristar - could you email me the menu at donutdjn@ntlworld.com? We do have family from Jamaica joining but majority are staying at the resort so I can only ask. I have seen a lovely circle of flowers on one of the pictures on this site so I thought of asking for one of those instead of an arch. Isnt this site great - not sure what I would have done without it!

Hi...I'm getting married in 4 weeks at the Hilton RoseHall and have a question for past brides. Did you receive any type of program or itinerary for the ceremony? When I spoke to Yolandi last, I asked about it and she mentioned that there will be an itinerary given to me, but I wasn't sure if the same itinerary would be given to my guests also or should I be creating one for them? Also, did any of you have a welcome party..I kind of wanted to get all guests together sometime before the wedding day, but really do not want to spend too much money doing it. So, I was thinking of putting a little note into their welcome bags, letting them know to meet us by the pool at a certain time. Would this be corny? Any advise would be great!! Thanks!

Hey Ladies,

I need your opinions on the Room Offers, also if you would tell me what you understand. Here are the room offers:

* With 10 room Wedding

o 3 days / 2 nights complimentary stay for the Bride & Groom in an Ocean View room

o One bottle of House Champagne

* With 20 room Wedding

o 4 days / 3 nights complimentary stay for the Bride & Groom in an Ocean Front room

o One bottle of House Champagne

* With 35 room Wedding

o 6 days / 5 nights complimentary stay for the Bride & Groom in a Caribbean Suite

o One bottle of House Champagne

* With 50 room Wedding

o 7 days / 6 nights complimentary stay for the Bride & Groom in a Royal Caribbean Suite

o One bottle of House Champagne

Do you see this as a complimentary room or upgrade? I inquired about whether what I had paid for my room would be applied to my total bill, since we are expecting to hit the 35 rooms. I also wanted to be sure we could secure the suite.

I was told that only the deposit was applied to the total and that it has nothing to do with the 35 rooms which only entities me to an upgrade. well, you know i'm irritated, but I'm wondering how everyone else interprets this.

thanks!

It says "complimentary" stay. I don't see why they won't honor it. I guess I'm trying to understand. Do you have 35 rooms not including yours? And by deposit, I assume you meant the amount you used to secure the wedding there right? I was told you can put the deposit toward anything. I do see why you're irritated.

Yes, I agree with Pandabride6 regarding the complimentary rooms. It definitely sounds like you would receive all 6 days/5 nights free in a Carribean suite. I would definitely fight that, they shouldnt word it that way if thats not what they mean. I myself reached the 10 rooms and did receive the 3 days/2 nights free as it stated. Now, as part of my actual wedding package, it states we will receive a suite upgrade if one is available. So, I'm hoping one is...not sure if I should inquire about that now...maybe I should. As for the deposit, I had to put a $1000 deposit to have the wedding there and that was used towards my wedding package. Hopefully, everything works out for you!!

Is anyone using a videographer? If so who are you using? I have Sungold for the photography but I am thinking that I may also need a vidographer. Also what is everyone doing for reception decorations & gazebo decorations? Does the resort offer the chair covers and sashes for the ceremony? Sorry for all the questions.

I'm using a videographer provided by the resort. They'll only capture the ceremony. Honestly, I'm thinking of not using them since we have family members with video cameras. In terms of decorations, the florist vendor is the one who provides those options, not the resort. You can go through either Grande Garden or Tai Flora for that service without having to worry about a vendor fee.

terri1225- Like Pandabride6, I am using the resorts videographer because it's pretty inexpensive. I'm bringing a photographer, but really wanted to video as well. Grande Garden is doing my decorations, they and the resort have chair covers and table clothes. I believe the resort has white and black table clothes at no extra cost, but I believe chair covers are extra.

and hey, no worries on th questions...thank goodness we are all here to help each other!

oh and an update, I worked out my number of room drama. if we get one more room we'll get the upgraded room at no cost.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
