Recommended Posts

Pandabride6 - I got the quote from Grande Garden, I didn't get a quote from Tiaflora, but

with my package, Grande Garden gave me a great discount. I have the One Love Package, here are some of the discounts:

bouquets reg price $125, with discount $50

Centerpieces reg price $125, with discount $75

jr bridesmaid reg price $100, with discount $50

does anyone know how this prices with the other florist?

Mrs. Reed to b- Sorry it took me so long to get back on here... guess it's just the pressures of life sometimes, lol. But anyways for a reception, check out The Native on the tourist strip or Pier One Restaurant. I believe Pier one has a website pieronejamaica.com. Hopefully that helps! My cousin said The Native is a good place with good food.

tauristar and kimilee- Thanks for the info on Grande Garden. I've contacted them and will let you know how things go with that as well. I'm assuming the website belongs to the same floral company Rose Hall works with.

Hi ladies

I was told i would have to pay $500 for the AI guests for the set up of the bar (3 hrs) and $44 per person for thoes coming off the hotel, If i pay this fee do my guests get their drinks free for the 3hrs or do they still have to pay for their own drinks i don't understand how it works or would it be better for them to get there drinks from another bar at the hotel. Why should we have to pay when we can get our drinks free anyway with us being AI guests.

rosehallbride - if you pay for the bar per person, the guests will not have to pay during the 3 hours. I choose to do a consumption bar, no per person fee, many of my older guests won't drink that much. I am expecting it to be much cheaper. I asked Charline and once you have guest confirmed you can negotiate a percentage off of the cost for your AI guests. it's not a ton but it covers the high Jamaican taxes.

Pandabride - I got pricing for a rehersal dinner at Pier One - thanks for mentioning it! the prices are great, I'm very excited about it!

Hi Ladies....

It has been a LONG time since I have been on here. Life has gotten quite busy since our wedding. We are in the process of buying a house and are now expecting our first baby in July!

Anyway, My husband and I were married at RHR on August 14, 2009 and I would be happy to answer any questions that you may have.

rosehallbride--we did a consumption bar, we told Charline that our budget was $1000. They kept track of the drinks that everyone ordered and if we got close to the limit they would let us know and we would have the option of continuing to pay/ make it cash bar or close the bar. I think that the total was around $500 (for 52 guests over 3 hours), so we wound up with a credit back.

Hope this helps...and congrats to everyone!

I am sooo happy to hear that there are other couples that have or are getting married at the Rose Hall. I am getting married there on May 8th of this year. Me and my fiance were there back in 2006 before the resort was renovated and we absolutely loved it, which is why we decided to get married there. I do agree that it can get somewhat pricey, but it all depends on what you want and how much you can afford. We decided to go with the Jamaica Sunshine package and just included an upgrade to our West Lawn gazebo decor and to also include a PA system. To keep the price down we also decided on just having a small cocktail reception with just a few hor-deuvres in the same location as the wedding ceremony. At first, I was little annoyed with the fact that we had to pay for food and drinks even though all our guest had all inclusive packages. But, then they explained that this is considered a private event and unfortunately the all inclusive does not apply.

I do have a question for those of you whom have already gotten married there. Did any of you get the standard cake and bouquet that comes with the package? If so, how were they? Just curious, I'm sure they will both be beautiful no matter what.

Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
