What are your (inexpensive) beauty miracles?

Aspirin mask! - buy a cheap bottle of aspirin at the dollar store.

Disolve it in a little water to make a scrub/mask. Apply to face, leave it on for a few minutes, and then gently exfoliate the skin. Aspirin is salicylic acid (BHA), which is a skin soother and exfoliant. Leaves the skin baby-smooth!

This thread is so fun! I have two beauty miracles.

1. Getting my eyebrows threaded. I go to a gal that does it out of her home. It's $15 and it totally shapes my face. It hurts like a MF, but it's so worth it.

2. Double sided carpet tape. You can get this at ACE Hardware. Get the cloth kind. It will hold down any type of clothing and doesn't rip your skin off. It's great for keeping fabric in place so you don't have a wardrobe malfunction. I think it's around $2.99 for an entire roll that will last you a life time (unless you wear revealing clothing everyday!)

This thread is great!!! I use vaseline for my lips and also to remove my eye makeup. It takes off my makeup great plus it's so moisturizing that it helps fight wrinkles in the eye area. I know it sounds gross but try it......it really works. I also use philosophy products. They are a little spendy but the only thing that really works on my skin. I LOVE all of their products. I use the purity face wash, moisturizer for all skin types and spf 15 and I have the microdermabration mask that is AMAZING!!!

yes! Olive oil is the BEST.

I am really sensitive to commercial eye makeup remover, so i use EVOO instead - it rinses away much more easily than other oils, and it's full of antioxidants, too. I also use it as a bath oil and shower oil when bathing. If I'm in the kitchen and had to wash my hands, I'll put a little of this stuff on my hands, too.

Sometimes I'll use it as a hot oil treatment for my hair, but not very often - only when I'm out of my regular deep conditioner.

My two miracles are both supplements:

1. chlorella - has made me more regular (sorry if that's tmi), hair grows faster, nails grow faster and white!, whites of eyes are whiter, also cuts my appetite so I don't over eat.

2. r-lipoic acid / alpha - lipoic acid - cleared my skin up in like a week and i had ridiculous adult acne, scaly patches, itchy skin. One pill a day and my skin is smoother than it's EVER been, all over.

I swear by these two. Feel free to research them both if interested.

when I was in college my roomies and i used to share eyeliners and mascara. we all got pink eye at the same time from this. we went to the healthcenter together and the dr there recommended that we use Johnson's Baby Shampoo to take our eye makeup off. It is a gentle cleanser (gentle enough for babies!) and there is no irritation to the eyes. I have used this in place of eye-makeup remover ever since! The perk is that its super cheap and a bottle lasts FOREVER. If you have kids at home there's a chance you already have it....give it a try!

Ooh this thread is great! One inexpensive beauty product that I've been using for years is mayonnaise on my hair!! Yes, your good ole' Hellman's from your local market. Although smelly, lol, it really does leave my hair super shiny...it's fairly inexpensive and it works!

I used to use inexpensive beauty products...but as you age, you notice those same make-ups don't work the same anymore, lol. I now use alot of Laura Mercier (expensive, I know) products and Stila! Although more expensive, I LOVE and LIVE by these! I noticed a difference the first time I started using them...I loved them so much, I had to stomach the price. gulp! The one good thing is that they last a long time...so that's how i justify it, lol.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
