Epoca Restaurant - Reviews?

Recommended Posts

I haven't heard of that one either but we did go to some great restaurants while we were there in October. My favorite and a great one for a welcome dinner is Boca Bento in Mismaloya. The food is fabulous and the owners, Stewart and Monika are wonderful. Stewart was very accomodating. They sent me some menus for a welcome dinner and they have a great private terrace upstairs at the restaurant. I would highly recommend this restaurant. If you get a chance to go tell Stewart that Kathie and Kerry said hello.

Hey there!

We ate there last November after three different people highly recommended it. I mean, it seemed like everyone was talking about the place! I think it was a combination of having our expectations brought up and having a really bad waiter- because we actually didn't love it. Don't get me wrong- the food was good, but not great. Some stuff we tried seemed like it was a good idea that was executed all wrong. Especially for the price. The ambiance wasn't quite what we expected either, and to me the location wasn't ideal. We were checking it out for our rehearsal dinner and it was the last place we tried. Before trying Epoca we tried Trio, La Palapa and Cafe de Artistes. I must say that it didn't compare in our opinion to any of the above. But I really need to say that EVERYONE we talked to HIGHLY recommended it- we were getting reviews that it was people's favorite place, and that it was incredible. So we actually left thinking that we had an off-night experience there. I would recommend trying it if you can or looking for reviews on sites like Travelocity. Our wedding coordinator in Vallarta was shocked that we didn't love it... so it was probably a fluke. ??

Good luck!

Like Stephanie said, we had our welcome/rehearsal dinner at Epoca and it was fabulous!! I worked with Kurt months ahead of time organizing the budget, the food and the anbiance. It was better than i expected. All of our guests commented on the food and the location. Like Stephanie said we had tables on the beach under palapas and tiki torches surrounding the tables. It was fab. If i can find pics, i'll post. I might have last year but i'll post again. let me know if you have specific questions.

we had our rehearsal dinner there and it was lovely. Our guests commented on how good the food was and the location. We had tables on the beach under palapas with tiki tourches surrounding the group. It was easy to work with Kurt the owner and very reasonable on pricing.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
