Hello Girls,

I'm planning on June 12,2010 and I can't wait. Sjfreimark I noticed Kimmy2009sent you the package prices for 2009 I have the ones for 2010 if you would like. Are your dates confirmed yet? If so how? I went on the Riu website to confirm my date (because I got the reservation code to confirm my date) and it asked for room information but booking for June 2010 won't begin until June 2009. One other thing has anyone had any concerns about the recent violence that has been on the news lately about Mexico, I'm getting grief from the future Mother-In-Law (MIL?).

Congrats to you girls

Samantha

Hi wedding0610!! I have been getting a few concerns as well about Mexico's safety. Here's the thing.....all of this violence is happening on the US/Mexico border. Cabo San Lucas is so americanized too! I know it's a little much when you have family or future family coming at you with concerns. I have recently realized that it's important to do what YOU and your FIANCE want to do. You are going to have danger wherever you go. Just remind your guests that it is a foreign country and you ALWAYS need to take the necessary precautions.

I haven't confirmed my dates yet. I have 90 days and I have been e-mailing Daniella to check and re-check that I will get what I want before I completely confirm. If you can't confirm just e-mail Daniella and she could probably help you. That would be great if you could send me the dates for the 2010 stuff. I have the price of the Royal Package (40 people or less). I have been thinking a lot and I think I am going to make my own bouquet. It will save tons of money and I don't really want to use the resorts flowers because I don't think they will be my colors. My colors are going to be pink and brown. I was thinking having pink roses and wrap them with brown ribbon or whatever it is they use to wrap the flowers. Not sure what they are called. What are you doing for the reception, cocktail hour, etc.?

Kimmy these are so helpful! Thank you! We're getting married in March 2010 and I'd like to start getting an idea of a budget so the extras cost are useful to have in mind..

I also looked into the cake toppers site - they're gorgeous! I love the color selection of all the crystals. Your cake will look amazing!

Happy planning! :)

Ive been reading several posts and apparently the wedding cake offered by the hotel -- Riu Palace Riveria Maya isnt tasty at all.

Kimmy, Melinda, wedding0610, sjfreimark--do you know if we can bring in out own cake from outside vendor? Ive read of good things re: Turtle Bay Cafe Bakery.

Hi Msbettybernier! I think you can bring your own cake put I am not sure. You might want to contact Daniella about that one. I think I am just going to have the cake from the hotel. I have heard it's pretty good. Plus, I have heard that everyone is usually to drunk at that time to even care about cake!! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
