That's a great idea. The cork makes for easier transport.
I have been looking at the sets and they are like $45, good
way to save a bit.

why don't you use your wedding invitation if you don't have epics? that would be a nice keepsake as well.

i love the idea of a frame over vase. how do people transfer the vase back from DW with sand in it?

Journey to the Aisle and Beyond: Sand ceremony trial

That's a great link for the DIY girls. You just buy a frame from Kohl's (called an Umbra Ether frame) and they have deals on it frequently from what I've read. It's not as customized as the ones you can get from Sandframes, but it's cheaper if you feel like DIY-ing this project.

I'm still thinking about it; my mom keeps trying to find stuff for use to use, but I'm not sure what I want yet. I know you can wax seal the top of a vase, but I'm afraid I'll make a mess and it won't look good at all. Plus, I'm concerned about getting it home; I know girls tape plastic wrap and all sorts of stuff over it, but still I'm not sure. I think I just typed enough to make me want to do a frame for the ease of it!

thanks for posting links to the DIY sandframe ... i saw that a long time ago but ruled it out since i didn't think i had a good pic to use. a few of you suggested using my invitation, which i think is a great idea, so it looks like i'll be adding this to my DIY list now!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
