Well, now that I've got the place and date for the wedding, it's time to start on the other stuff. How much should I expect to pay for STD magnets and invitations? What are good prices? What did you all pay and where did you get yours from, if you don't mind me asking.... Thanks!

I DIY'd my save the dates. (boarding passes)

They were about $225 for 100 of them.

I used Papel Vivo - Hand made Paper and Wedding Invitations: Index for my invitations (custom design). I think that they were around $1050 for 150 invitations - they are the Costa Rica invitation on her site. (OUCH... didn't realize I had spent that much!)

I spent around $200 for calligraphy. (Pretty Pen Jen Calligraphy)

Shower TY cards were $65ish (They were a really cute "gracias" design from :: SheSaidYesAnnouncements.com :: Photo Save the Dates & Wedding Announcements :: Shower Invitations :: And More! ::)

and wedding TY cards were $100ish (just ordered these too from Wedding Invitations, Bridal Shower Invitations, Wedding Stationery, Thank You Cards, Wedding Shower Invitations)

So total stationery budget was around $1700. YIKES!!! eek.gif

I am making my invites myself and dont plan on spending more than $100 (including envelopes and stamps) I am not doing STD magnets, but if I was I would do them myself. If you are crafty you can buy magnet at Michaels and you could use that to make your own!

Good Luck!

I wish I were crafty! I'd probably save a lot more $$! :-) I've heard good things about VistaPrint. I also saw that David's Bridal has invitation for 20% off if you buy a dress there. Has anyone gotten their invitations from there?

For some girls the STD and invites are important. I'm at the Invite stage right now. Figuring out paper needs for 50 invites, if I go through www.cardsandpocketsstore.com for materials, it will cost approx $180 + extra embellishments + postage. I'm sure I can find cheaper paper, but I'm figuring about $225 in materials then I print and put them together myself. I may or may not go this route.

I paid approx $23 + 12$ in postage for my STD postcards. I had them done at VistaPrint. Quality wasn't the best, but friends and family thought they were cute. It was basically a way to get people to our website for more info.

What I found is you can spend $30 and you can spend a zillion dollars.. it's all about what you care most about and your budget.

I'm doing save the date magnets and making them myself (with the help of Erik) We are going to use a picture from our engagement photos from Cabo(so excited!) then Erik will photoshop one photo and make it small enough to print on business card paper then we will glue that to magents that are the size and fit of the business cards.

Got the business cards and Magnets from office depot.

I will show end product once we do e-pics in july

I would recommend magnets from Vista Print. Sign up for their newletters. Then you get a lot of "free" stuff. You only pay for shipping & processing. So, once you do this, you can get 100 magnets for $30.

As far as cardstock and envelopes goes, I plan on using this company... Buy Envelopes - All Sizes, Styles, and Colors - Printed or Plain - ActionEnvelope.com

I plan on paying $250 for my save the dates (boarding passes) and around $400 for my actual invites and thank you notes (also through Vistaprint)

Seriously? $30 for 100 magnets? Are they the little business cards one or the larger size?

$30 is 3.5"x2" (Business Card) $22 for 100 cards and then $6.95 for shipping. $2.99 to upload a photo.

$95 for 5.5"*4.5"

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
