Just wanted to stick my head in and say hey before I start planning. I really had my heart set on Cabo Mexico and even set a date at Dreams, but since all of the violence out there my family has been really hesitant about even goingfrown.gif. FI and I have decided to change our location to Jamaica so here I am starting from scratch on planning. I have a long ways to go as we can't decide on Negril vs. Ochos Rios, Sandals vs. RIU....ugh!

Well we have a date of 5/8/10 so I hope we can keep that. Look forward to reading all of your reviews and planning on our big day.

Hi Jenna, We were looking at Mexico, also; however, our niece and flower girl was not going to get to attend the wedding if we pursued Mexico. Our families were not excited to travel there either. We actually just cancelled all our local Indiana plans to go with a DW. It was what I have already wanted and I think my FI finally realized he couldn't just plan a wedding and reception locally "in an hour". ;-)

I am getting married in Sept 2009 so a little less than 6 months to plan. I would be happy to keep you posted and let you know what I learn as I go along. My plan is to let my TA do all the planning and just show up and have a wedding. I have heard great things about the Riu. We chose it because we do have children who will be attending. We would have looked into Sandals and other adult only resorts otherwise. Let me know how I can help. Talk soon!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
