i'm with morgan and lauren. i'm so glad i never have to plan and fuss over all those details. i just wish everyone else i knew was already married so i didn't have to be a bridesmaid too!

otherwise, we're boring. i'm currently a housewife (hah) due to the economy which has been a big adjustment. but i'm also in the middle of a career change so it's been a little stressful. we are going on an (early) anniversary trip on one of the mediterranean cruises so i'm pretty stoked about that.

kate- congrats on the pregnancy!

Hmm.. well my life has been pretty boring since the wedding. We want to buy a house this year so we aren't going out and doing alot of stuff.. trying to save money. I was the first of my close friends to get married and one of my BM's is now getting married at the end of august so I will be a bridesmaid :) I don't really post alot on here anymore but I check in daily just to see what's up with all the old-timers on here so this is the perfect thread for that!! :)

Congrats on your pregnancy Kate! You guys will be fantastic parents!

Betsy-where in Iowa are you at? may be getting relocated there.

Morgan- I am getting the photography itch too! Don't know where to begin though.

I've been traveling for work Mon-Friday and haven't had much time to think. Obsessed with wedding pics and how to get them in a book. And now planning for my AHR in June which is turning out to be a big to do. So over it.

And one of my BFs got engaged so i'm shifiting my wedding energy her way!

Great thread! To be honest.. I really miss the planning and I am unfortunately not relaxing and out of planning mode just yet!

We bought a house just before the wedding so that has taken up a lot of our time since early December. My BF is having a baby in July so working on her shower stuff. My little sis is getting married in October and I am the MOH so that is keeping me super busy as she is not a planner at all.

Hmmm, most of my time is consumed by my need for a house. Married life is great though. I love the stability it offers. I no longer have doubts about our relationship (not that I really ever did, but I just FEEL more secure.) I wish the sex could go back to being like it was when we first met, but that's all my fault. Issues with my body means I am less comfortable getting freaky in crazy places.

I don't miss planning the wedding. I didn't hate it, I enjoyed it most of the time, but I am over it. I have more patience with my friends who are getting married though, since I am so fresh with it myself. The only thing I miss was my free-for-all purchases that I was allowed to make before. Man, I was a shopping fool.

I try and get on here and post where I can help in DR and when a thread title intrigues me. Otherwise, I kind of stick to non-planning threads like in health and beauty and that type of thing

But to be totally honest there are SOOO many new people on here every day, it's hard to connect with people than it was before. sad.gif

I'll keep trying, but I have made really good friends on here, it's hard to let that go!

We should have more chit-chat sub-forums for the married types, like a house and home or hobbies or something. :)

I still have 2 months till my wedding, but I already know that I will be thrilled when the whole planning thing is over with. I know some girls just love it, but I hate making decisions which is what wedding planning is all about. I can't wait to never deal with who's invited who's not, hurt wedding feeling from FMIL, everything. I'm so ready to be married and go on our honeymoon and never talk about wedding planning again. Now don't get me wrong, I love the forum and love looking at every one elses plans, but mine just drive me crazy. Is that bad?

I was MIA for awhile from BDW b/c I think I didn't really know what to do with myself after the wedding! It was like all I did was talk on here about what I was doing and how excited I was and then after I posted my pics and review I was like....ok now what?? But luckily I found my way back and have been on here tons lately LOL!! And I feel so lucky to have made so many friends on here too!
I noticed you had disappeared for awhile. I'm super happy that you're back!

I still can't believe it's been almost two years since the wedding. I didn't find this site until about three months after I was married, but I stick around because I just really love weddings. I love looking at the planning journal threads, and the pictures once the brides come back from their weddings.

I know I don't post a whole lot, but that has a lot to do with shyness that I've been battling since I was a kid. I've been using message boards as a way of trying to open up a bit more, and it is helping...but I still tend to sit back and play silent observer more often than not. blush2.gif

I get really excited when I see any Bermuda brides and try to help out where I can. Otherwise, I just love reading what all you girls are up to. It's nice to see I'm not the only one who still gets a kick out of wedding cake and flowers.

As for what's new, well, not a whole lot. We're nicely settled in our house, have no travel plans for a year or so, and are really just trying to balance work and social life. Ho hum.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
