Ashley Furniture Reviews?

I just want to know if anyone has ordered furniture from Ashley Furniture? They have some mixed reviews online but so does every furniture store. I was just wondering what my BDW girls thought.

We bought our couch from them last April. Love the couch, loved the service. It didn't take forever for it to arrive (about a month I think), the guys attached the feet for us (it wouldn't have fit through the door with them on), a great experience. And the prices aren't terrible, which is a big plus in today's economy.

We bought a leather furniture set about 2 years ago. One of the seat cushions on the couch ripped right down the middle about 4 months ago. It's not ripped on the seam, just right in the middle of the cushion. The store we bought it from has been good about trying to help, but we were told that Ashley themselves only guarantee their furniture for one year. Since our couch has since been discontinued, we are kinda on our own to try to fix it. We love the look of the furniture, and the price was good, but in the long run, just not worth it.

Their prices are great, but sometimes the service sucks! My mom ordered a table that had a guaranteed delivery of Feb 2008. In April the table had still not arrived. She called and called but they never said when the table would come, so she went to the store and took the one off the showroom floor(i guess she scared them into letting her have it.)

Now the guy she is dating just had the same problem with his bedroom set. He is still sleeping on the floor.

Good luck! I would probably make sure it is in stock before u buy.

LMAO Sounds like something my Mom would do. I am not too worried about having to wait for it as we already have furniture. That sucks for your Mom and her BF though.

I just hope it holds up. We are buying the five year warranty on it.

Thanks girls for all the feedback.

I think a lot of it depends on how much use something will get. My mom bought a new couch at Ashley and a chaise at a another furniture store (i don't remember the brand) that was on clearance. The Ashley is already showing wear, i guess it's been a year or 2, while the chaise looks as good as it did the day it was delivered.

I look at furniture as kind of disposable, at least in my family. I have 2 hundred pound dogs and a 375 pound husband. We are hard on stuff! I would rather buy a cheaper set now, knowing we might need to replace it in 5 years, than buy a $5000K set and possibly end up in the same situation of needing to get new stuff.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
