O-M-G....Miss 1 day and miss a lot! WTF is going on here??!! How can someone seriously threaten you with legal action when you are just voicing your honest OPINION??!! And seriously, spies on BDW? Get outta here! This is supposed to be where we can vent about our stresses, not create more....seriously! Thank God you found all this out BEFORE your wedding, and once again Morgan you seriously rock girl! WOW...I am never going 1 day with out BDW again LOLOL

O M G!!!!!

Heather, wow! I am so sorry that this all went down. I cannot think of a less favorable circumstance to arise during the planning phase! I can't believe I seemed to miss this entire juicy thread!!popcorn.gif

Morgan, you are an absolute doll! BDW is such a great community, and it's too bad that it has to be polluted by bitchy vendors, and their little mole minions.

Blech to the "photog name removed!"-- I hope that this continues to bite her in the ass for the rest of her wonderful photog career. I'm baffled by the unprofessional manner in which she handled the criticism.

Hooray for the BDW mods, admins and members for making sure this stayed up for all of the other DBs out there that need to know info EXACTLY like this! smile03.gif

Ok, maybe this is weird, but how come all the replies about their experience with [photog name removed] talk about a "gift from God"; "it was a blessing"; "a god send". Ok, maybe not all of them, but quite a few stood out. I know she is religious and I have nothing against that, I am "religious" in my own way, but it seems a little planted or something.

Anyway, [photog name removed], it has been clearly established that you have an exceptional talent and it should not be wasted. Please take this constructive criticism and move on with your work! I support the brides that have negative reviews, b/c I don't beleive that a hired vendor should add stress to any brides wedding planning/day; however, I remember your work and I think you have so much to offer. Please take the good with the bad, and learn to keep your professional life separate then your personal and you will have a flourishing career.

Juan Carlos had a negative review where a member wrote about his slow response time, etc and he actually came and read the review and wrote a post apologizing for the problems and thanking the bride for bringing the issues up so he can work on them...no whining or complaining about the negative post...for his post, i will always think that Juan Carlos is a stand up vendor.

that is how vendors should act. there is always room for improvement.

people should not be afraid to post HONEST reviews of their vendors.
I was talking to Martin about this drama earlier and mentioned the same thing about Juan Carlos and what a trooper he was!

I don't know if they were planted. As soon as I got back from my wedding, she sent me a wedding wire link & asked me to write a review. It would be pretty awkward to post anything less than 5 stars when you know they will read it right away. I imagine the other brides were sent the link, too.

Yikes!:-)
no you shouldn't feel like that... you should give an honest review. it would be great to tell others that you had a good experience with a vendor... and on the other hand, if it was bad I think you brides have to stick together and help each other. You are in a sense, a part of the process that allows good photogs or other vendors for that matter offer services to more people by the word of mouth. And if the vendor sucked then, really should they be permitted to continue?

I am pretty shocked how the photographer has reacted to this. The photographer has actually made it worse in her responses by adding more fuel to the fire after the fact.

I would also encourage any bride that had an issue with a photographer (or any vendor) to speak up and let all the other brides know to save them the headache and also (hopefully) let the vendor grow from it.

I know if I had made a B&G unhappy for whatever reason I would want to be the first to know and try to correct it. We hold so much in our hands that influence your day, which is after all supposed to be one of the happiest, most fun, and memorable days of your life. It would be a shame if you couldn't openly discuss your personal experience (positive and negative) to help future brides.

I read the weddingwire reviews and also noticed how "angelic" they were. Interesting indeed. It is a shame when professionals do not act as such. Vendors need to acknowledge that the internet has become the new word of mouth. This is the kind of economy where past experience will keep people in business or put them out, even those with talent. Stop the diva act, without customers vendors are nothing.

I don't think Morgan has anything to worry about with her karma and Heather will get great pics regardless of who her photg is. I think BDW keeps growing because of the great people who are active. Look at all the Mrs's that stick around because of the friendships and the true desire to help other future brides.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
