Travel agent woes

Does anyone else's travel agent never fail to put them in tears? I had an actual anxiety attack, because I find out today, a month and a half after final payment was due, that they finally tried to take it, and it was declined. So she has told me so far that she needed it absolutely today, given me attitude while I was trying to find the money, and been absolutely horrible. It's been a month! It came off our other visa on Feb 4th, why not this one!?!?!

On top of this, she has just ruined my engagement. Absolutely ruined it. She has made it the worst experience of my life.

I called J today and begged him to just run away to Vegas.

I'm so sorry! We have all been at that breaking point at one time or another (or many times) during our wedding planning. Is it too late to get a different agent? Maybe the TA's on here can give you some suggestions or useful advise? In the mean time, hang in there. We are here for you when you need to vent. Don't let her ruin your engagement or your big day, just think of how great it will be when you are there. Have your FI give you a backrub and grab a glass of wine tonight!

Good luck, keep us posted!

Thank you both for your words! But - it is too late - everything's nearly been done. I had a bad feeling at the beginning, should have taken heed! I've complained to everyone I can. I've given up, I do have more flights to book for people coming though, and they will NOT be going through them! It's a local company.

I feel your pain.... I'm totally annoyed with mine too.... I've had so many complaints about her not stepping up for our guests (and not knowing what she's talking about).... I found a different travel agent for all new bookings. The entire reason I went through a travel agent is so I wouldn't have to field complaints about anybody's travel! I'm sorry, girl.

I'm jealous of everyone that had a good experience, and sympathise with those who didn't.

Mine just informed my FI "I've had it with her." Professional huh? Left a voicemail for her boss, doubt it will do anything, since he hasn't contacted me at all in regards to any complaint I've lodged!

is it stress from the economy that has everyone uptight?
Thank you. :) I'm actually in Edmonton, Canada - so she doesn't even really have that to blame as much! She just seems like she is determined to make me as miserable as possible.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
