Thanks for the review! I will be getting married there on June 11, 2009. I wanted to ask you how many people did you have at your wedding? I have 50 ppl and from what I read earlier it may be a problem reserving dinner for 50 ppl other than the wedding day. How did you like the disco for your reception? I have the disco booked after dinner as well, but looking into changing it to the poolside reception for dancing only if it is available. I also have the caprice package and I was wondering what exactly did you get from that package? Did you take anything out or add anything? What kind of decorations did the gazebo have with that package? I have so many more questions, but I feel like I asked to many already! Sorry for all the questions, but I would love to hear your review. If you can email it to me my email address is jmogilevich@yhahoo.com. Thank you so much!

HI Julia,

We had 35 people at our wedding. We often didn't book everyone at the same time at the restaurants which really worked out best for us because we felt it wasn't necessary to do everything as a group. We had dinner with different groups of friends on different nights and on the last night our families (12 of us) had dinner at the Japanese restaurnat. We did have a rehearsal dinner Monday night before the wedding at the buffet and they arranged a section of the restaurant for us.

We loved the disco. We did our first dances there and then everyone partied. It was a blast. I asked that they turn on some lights for our party because the night before when we went to check it out it was dark. With low lights it was perfect. The DJ was great and the bartender actually came out and danced with us a couple of times. VERY FUN.

Caprice package ceremony set up is beautiful. There are extra flowers and tulle. Hairstyle for the bride is included mani/pedi, bouquet/boutainere. Couples massage, skin exfoliation, 2 bags of rose petals (which I had on the linen walkway for the ceremony).......it's a great package. Oh yeah and breakfast in bed the morning after the wedding which was AWESOME. There should be a list on the website for RIU weddings. You aren't allowed to substitute anything I checked.

KRIS - we got married at 4:00. 1:00 is early but I'm sure people will just relax and hang out in between the ceremony and dinner. What photographer package did you get. We bought the Head Photographer package so we had 2 extra hours of photos which we did after the ceremony. That burns some time. Is you dinner at 6:30?

Oh yeah........the other question

Yes we rented the chair covers and sashes at the resort (last minute decision because it looked soooooooooooooooo beautiful).

Rain.....it only rained for about an hour the whole week and it was at around 11:00 in the morning the day before our wedding.

The spa.....I can't remember the girl who did my hair but my MOH and I both had ours done and there are only 2 girls both were fantastic. Bring a picture because we both did and they did exactly what we wanted.

Hi Jennifer, welcome back, and congrats!!! Great to hear you had an awsome time! Your review makes me really exited, Im leaving in exactly two weeks, and althought I thought I would be extremely nerveous at this point, Im not!.. Im very relaxed, and starting to get in the relaxing mood, just like the Jamaicans :-) .. I was wondering, Im having some doubts concerning the spa. I want to do my nails the day before the wedding, but do the have acryl nails? I dont hava pretty nails for myself, and want to do them at the hotel. I read French Manicure, but here in Holland that means, cleaning brushing and some nail polish, thats it, also I have clip on extensions for my wedding, do you think the hairdresser is willing to use them and also do my hair? The only thing Im a little worried about is my hair and make up ... you cant do them in advance :-) ..

Hiya Jess

Yes you can have acrylic nails done at the spa, I saw it on their pricelist, I also have them on but was planning to have them done say the weekend before we go, which will be in 2 weeks!! Then I have also requested that my mani & pedi be done the day before the wedding @ 3pm, it saves a bit of time the morning of the wedding as well. I would pretty much think they can work with your hair extensions too, have heard great things about them & don't forget they've done numerous brides so they know what they're doing.

How long will you be there for? 2 weeks? Don't forget we'll have to meet up at some point for a few shots.gif!!! Relax and enjoy the moment!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
