1. Is the steakhouse air conditioned? Was everyone able to order off of the menu? Did they cover your table with special linens?
2. Did you do anything with your group after the wedding? How about a cocktail hour?

I am trying to keep my costs down. I was thinking I could do the dinner like you did and then do a cocktail hour by the pool with a dj. That would save me the $800 or more for the reception. Any suggestions. Thanks

Oh, 1 more thing. Did you have a meeting spot for your group to meet during the day and in the evening? I was thinking about rotating between the 2 lobby bars in the evening and by the pool bar on the del mar side during the day. Do you know the name of that bar?
Hi there! I'm glad to help, no worries!

The Steakhouse, El Puerto, is NOT air conditioned as it is an open-air a la carte. They did cover the tables with some white linens and the put my additional ceremony site floral decorations on the tables as center-pieces for the dinner. I felt that this was done well enough for my liking.

I didn't have a cocktail hour or anything special after the ceremony (if you mean while we were taking pics at the beach), most of my family came down to the beach to watch, which was fine with me...I basically left them to their own devices. After the reception dinner, we met in the Paraiso Beach lobby for a few drinks.

During the day, we usually just met by the pool wherever the first group of us were able to get a bunch of loungers. In the evening, we usually headed to the Paraiso Beach lobby for drinks or a game of cards.

I hope this information helps you! cheesy.gif

Sorry I can't be more help on this one, just make very certain that if you want something other than the plain old undecorated arch by itself that you tell her in great detail how you want it to look.
haha! I would have expected the whole arch to be decorated if you paid for "flowers for the arch"! I'm so glad you mentioned that! I'm going to look into a private florist, but I have a feeling they'll be really expensive!

well I feel this is still misleading- the pic she sent me of gazebo is dec well so i sent pic to her and asked for exact pricing- she said arch had 3 arrang for total of 45.00- however there is a lot of greens in there alsohuh.gif and she said flowers on columns were 25 each

Yeah, I don't think you're getting the whole story Gail...and you might not until your sit-down meeting with her...which is unfortunate because if you want concrete numbers BEFORE your wedding, that might be difficult. Sorry to hear you're getting the run around. sad.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
