What's something you saw at a wedding that made you swear...

so glad i found this thread...hilarious!!

I went to a wedding once that was held at a really nice hall. The ceremony was beautiful but the reception didn't match the location. They had those white paper wedding decorations and no linens. There was no alcohol or entertainment. We basically ate dinner and left. I understand that budgets are tight, but it would have been a lot better if they had just done dinner at a nice restaurant after the ceremony!

omg! those are all so funny. lol! And I was just going to put down that i hate it when there are these really long readings that everyone else has at their weddings. We are not having any readings, and if it was up to my FI there would not be any speaches so that people wouldnt go on and on and on.....

I went to a wedding in Jersey where the bride was so wasted after the cocktail hour that right after she and her DH were introduced into the reception and did their first dance she had to be helped out...she puked everywhere and then passed out in the bridal sweet for the rest of the night! She missed her whole wedding!!

i went to one wedding where the 1st dance for the bride and groom was postponed cuz the bride passed out from heat stroke (we waited a few hours and then left) they didn't want people dancing til they had their 1st dance.

i also went to a wedding where the speeches just insulted the bride and groom - they weren't even funny!

also since i've been a bridesmaid so many times and paid for many hideous dresses - i told myself i wouldn't let my bridesmaids pay for their dresses (and i have 9 lol)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
