i hear ya, but i don't mind the electric slide HALF as much as the macarena. i don't care if i am getting married in mexico and the song is part spanish, there is no way that is being played. it's a song about a girl cheating on her boyfriend! why would anyone want that at their wedding?

we are using an ipod tho, so we're totally in control! wink.gif

These are GREAT!!

I went to a friend's sisters wedding. The groom was about 10 years older than the bride, and was the youngest of 7 or 8 kids. So all of his nieces and nephews were there. And when I say all, I mean like 30 kids, all under 12, all screaming banshees. No sitters. No discipline. The babies cried bloody murder all through the wedding ceremony - none of the moms took them outside or to the back of the church. You couldn't hear a thing! And at the receception (an evening event), they let them run rampant - they bumped into us while we were trying to eat dinner, ran all over the place while the bride and groom tried to have their first dance. Oh my god it was awful!

Of course... I still had all 11 of our nieces and nephews at our wedding. But they are all good kids instead of the pack of feral children that stumbled upon that wedding.

OMG Maureen! I was at a wedding just like that. It was a beautiful set up but port-a-potties...I'm sorry that just didn't cut it. I guess they had a sewer and too much usage is not good.

Yep, Ann, LC was great. Noone there all day or night except my guests!~

Okay, my worst was at a metal barn garage type thing. The food was pasta that they dumped into a crock pot before the ceremony started with sauce so that it was ready when it was time to eat. Paper plates, etc. It was so odd, but they did have beer so it ended up being fun, but my bf at the time and I commandeered the microphone and sang! Gues that was cause of the beer. I also don't like the VFW hall weddings. Sorry if thats bitchy, but the decor is always from walmart like streamers etc.

I'm pretty sure this is a southern thing. Most of my friends did this. It's usually part of the package to get the gigantic print of the bride to display at the wedding. I peronally wouldn't do it. Then there is the issue of what to do with it after the wedding. They usually end up in the mother of the bride's house.

I can't believe with all the weddings I've been to, I don't have any stories. Although I like a tacky wedding. I'm the first on the floor to macarena or chicken dance.

I've seen several pictures of a bride doing a keg stand at the wedding. I think it's tacky, but then I trudged through bat poop in a wedding dress, so I'm sure many people out there would make fun of me :)

I have to confess that whenever I wear those special-suck-it-in-underwear, I always remove them before the night is over. Usually after a few drinks when I don't care that I might be a little lumpy, I take them off in the bathroom. Luckily, I didn't wear them for my wedding so at least I only act trashy at other peoples wedding! hahahaaaaa

I have yet to see something that made me swear to be honest, but I've quietly shaken my head at a few people. One bride had this hairdresser who pretty much ruined her hair. I don't know how it happened but let's just say she was blonde to start with and ended up with black streaks. Somehow they managed to fix it, but it made the wedding late by a few hours.

I went to a wedding several years ago and granted the bride and groom was on a budget but come on---actual 2 liter bottles of soda on the table for self servehuh.gif? It was in a VFW hall for good ness sake!! It was all very bootleg and greater effort could have been given...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
