Getting married in a private villa?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys.

I'm a newbie and I have only started my research on Cabo weddings. I haven't decided whether it will be in florida (where I live) or in Cabo. I guess it will all depend how much it will cost me. Cabo is my first choise, as my family is Brazilian and getting a mexican visa is much easier.

Is anyone getting married at a private villa? I fell in love with Villa Maria in Pedregal. Is anyone having their ceremony or reception there?

I'd love if you could share your WC and other vendors. So far, I've contacted Dennis catering, paradise weddings and baja weddings. Every single one of them comes with a price tag, though. I'd appreciate if you could share some of your info with me to help me put together an elegant, but yet, affordable wedding.

Hi there - from my research of private villa weddings in Cabo, you can't find a place to rent that will allow you to have it for only one night - most have a 3 or 5 night minimum stay. If you're OK with that, then I think you have lots of options! I chose to have mine at the Imperial Suite at the Fiesta Americana because it has the private villa feel but it's part of a resort so you get the catering and tables/dinnerware/bar through them, and we can rent it for just one night (we are staying at an AI for the rest of the week with our guests). I'm using external vendors for dessert, flowers, and lounge furniture rental (also using an external WC) but that's it. Let me know if you want more info.

I just got married in a private villa on Friday. It's actually my family's villa, so I'm not sure on how much they cost, but it was a great experience. I called Pocho's, which is a restaurant on the marina in Cabo, and they came out to the house with two servers and a bartender with the best tacos I've ever ate. It was very authentic. With dinner and drinks, the cost was about $50 per person. Our cake vendor, DJ, Photographer and Flowers all found the house just fine and the whole night cost us about $4000. It was a great time! Let me know if you need any vendor information ... all of our vendors were extremely reasonably priced and great!

Heather, I don't know if they would rent it out, sorry. I had the catering done by a local Cabo restaurant instead of a catering company. You may be able to find cheaper prices by contacting restaurants directly. Pochos is my favorite restaurant, so there was no doubt in my mind that's who we were going to beg to come out to the house. :) Good luck with all your planning!

Hello!

Dennis catering is a good choice, great staff and excellent food, you can check Lazy gourmet too, they might be a little more expensive though.

I recommand getting married in a villa, a lot of hotels force you to end the party pretty early (10-11pm), you won't have this problem in your private villa. The Pedregal is a very nice location, the beach is amazing and very private.

For WC, check fiestas los cabos, they are great and very efficient, Baja weddings is a nice choice too.

Hope this will help you!

I haven't rented one myself, but my feeling is that once you tally up all the fees and required vendors at a big resort, getting a villa might end up being cheaper even if they initially look like they'll be close to the same.

If you've got the villa, you can feel free to bring in some of your own food, let people stay and go when they please and you'll be the one calling all the shots on the vendors you use and the time everything takes.

Good luck!

This is an excellent point plus the service is so much better at the smaller villa's. Watching my clients deal with the staff at the big resorts they were frustrated because there just wasn't enough staff on hand to really give them the service that they were used to experiencing back in the states.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
