Timing of the fireworks???

Recommended Posts

I would love to have fireworks going off during my first dance, but am not sure how to time this correctly! I was planning of having the ceremony start at 5 (but could be later). Figure it goes for 30-45 minutes. Then cocktail hour till 6:30/6:45ish. I checked and it's not supposed to get dark till right before 8:00. I thought as soon as the cocktail hour ends, everyone is led to the reception area, then we are announced and immediately go into the first dance. If it's not dark yet, when do we do ithuh.gif Or am I better off starting the ceremony at 6 and moving everything up an hour. Still not sure if that would work- fireworks look best when it's really dark out, not just after the sun went down. For those of you who have had them, what did you do? Thanks so much for any advice you can give!

You lucky thing being able to AFFORD fireworks. LOL!

I think theres one other bride here that I've seen that did them, but I'm not sure of her name. Maybe do a search? I think, really you would be fine with anything after the sun really set, but I think doing them for your first dance would be really something.

I don't think I can afford the fireworks so I have been thinking we would use sparklers.

I think its way cool and will definitely be looking into that.

Hi Cwelch, I'm going with MP as well and my package includes the fireworks. I had my wedding specialist ask the WC at MP if I can have my fireworks towards the end of the reception as a grand finale and the WC at MP stated that the fireworks can not be moved from the ceremony area because that's where the set up is. I'm planning to have my reception right next to the ceremony area. She never gave a clear answer to my question so my guess is that it can be done. I didn't ask to move them, just do it in the evening. Any MP brides able to answer this question??

I heard one bride say that her fireworks were at her reception. I'm having the ceremony athe Bugambilias Gazebo and the reception afterward at the Bugambilias Terrace. I don't think they will have a problem doing the fireworks at the reception site when it's right next to each other...

I am so on the fence about the fireworks. At first this was something we were really interested in but then after talking to the WC she said that if it rains and they are not able to shoot off the fireworks we do not get reimbursed. I just cant justify spending over $1000 for something that is not guaranteed. Any suggestions?!?!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
