ROR blues

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

I am quite blue about my reservation experience with the ROR resort. They initially wouldnt take 2010 wedding reservations until March which I thought was quite weird. Now they are saying that they are not releasing room rates for 2010 until August/September. Has anyone had these issues in previous years or with 2010 weddings? Im just trying to stay on top of things but they keep pushing me back. Any recommendations?

i had the same experience. i think that is basically how most resorts operate. i don't think as many brides plan as far out as you and i did. just go ahead a book your wedding slot. do that asap so you can get the time you want and then when the rooms are available book your room. the prices did not change significantly from the previous year. don't let that little thing stress you out.

I have already booked my wedding slot and was given 30 days to confirm with booking a room. I simply just sent an email to them and they extended it until April. The tour operator packages usually come out sometime in May for the following year. Well here anyways So I will be able to book my room in a few months. Try talking to a travel agent and see what they can come up with

I am in the same situation. I booked my date for feb.3 2010 and have been waiting since december to do that :) My travel agent said that the hotel prices wouldn't be out until aug/sept but she has booked us anyways with deposits and an estimated price but if it goes down anytime between now and the wedding we get the lower price.

I am working with a travel agent but I just want to make sure we get the most reasonable rates. Her rates seem a bit high but I have nothing to compare them to. She assures me that they are the most reasonable as she is probably required to. The TA also swears it is unlikely the prices will go down but will definitely go up. I just want the best deal. PS. Sunstarmoon you were well in your right to get them to extend the date. They gave me 90days to book my room.

We booked out May 6th 2010 wedding on the RIU website back in March....so we got that much done........

We made ou group booking then a couple weeks ago---25 of us depat from toronto--our group rate is a bit high in my opinion,.....but apparently the exact prices are not out yet...however, we already signed into a contract.....we were told its too early to book any of the jacuzzi suites...we'll have to wait another 6 weeks or more to do that.......Im hoping the rate doesnt decrease THAT much--or else Ill be trying to fight for something along those lines.....i guess thats a con of booking too early--Im nice n organized,..but might end up paying alittle more--our guests were ok with it tho--I think they just wanted to book and set a budget too........

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
