For those interested in Jamaica-Destination Wedding & Honeymoon Expo in Westbury, NY

Recommended Posts

I just heard a commercial for this on the radio. It is a Destination Wedding & Honeymoon expo specifically for people interested in getting married or honeymooning in Jamaica. There will be vendors there from different resorts as well as vendors specializing in other areas. I figured it would be helpful for anyone who is thinking about Jamaica, especially since some of the resorts that we commonly talk about on BDW will be represented there.

It takes place on Sunday, March 29th, at the Holiday Inn in Westbury, Long Island.

Here is the link to the website for more info:

No problem at all. I hope that its helpful! I wish that something like this would have taken place when I was planning. It sounds like an excellent resource for making decisions about the resort & vendors.

Ladies, I believe this event is being hosted by Worldwide Group Travel and I have to tell you that I wouldn't go anywhere near it. Lisa Jones-Smith, the owner of that company was my first TA (I had to switch because she's terrible). She is a liar and stole money from us. She is still using my photo on her website for advertising purposes even after I have contacted her in writing at least 10 times telling her she does not have my permission to use my photo and information and please remove it. She refuses to respond. While the event sounds like it may have good information, I really do not recommend anything that has to do with this person. She was completely unprofessional and continues to be.

Not yet. She refused to answer any of my requests by mail. Right now the attorney general in my state is investigating and I'm in the process of having the attorney general in NY get involved. They just needed some more information to move forward. I doubt anything will ever happen with this and it really makes me mad that she'll get away with it. At this point, I'd really like her to remove my picture from her site. If she doesn't I might sue her, if its possible. I don't want anyone to look on there and think I was a happy customer who promotes her services. She was the worst person to work with and really made me miserable. I've literally sent her at least 10 written requests to remove my info from her site, including certified letters that she signed for so I know she received them.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
