When I was looking at wedding packages, I seem to remember one or two including preparation of the wedding garments as part of it. Maybe the person who handles that could also help you get dressed? If you're going to the resort salon to have your hair/makeup/nails done or anything, I bet they would help you get dressed too ...

We're also running off just the two of us for a beach wedding with an AHR a couple of weeks after we return. I CAN'T wait! I haven't worked out the details of exactly how the ceremony will go, but I'm going to finish up the remainder of my planning next week while I'm off work so I'll keep you posted.

Hey Airampz, Have you looked at regular wedding boutiques or david's bridal. David's Bridal has a section for just DW dresses and bridal boutiques usually have a section for DW dresses. Some are still kind of formal to me, some aren't, but if you are like me when you try them on you will want to wear one. I couldn't find just a long white dress that isn't a "wedding dress". I am know they are out there but... And of course tons on line, but I just don't understand how people can have the courage to get one online without trying them onhuh.gif I wish I could have because there were tons online that I liked, but from trying them on at the stores, so many that I thought would look good didn't so I didn't dare order online because they can't be returned, most of them.

I got mine at David's Bridal. I think it is pretty informal. Let us know!!! I love seeing what other people chose, especially if it is just two of you wedding like mine.

Also, what are your grooms wearing? Mine got a linen shirt and a white (kind of off white) jacket and pants. Not sure if he is going to wear the jacket at all and if the shirt will be in or out?. Neither of us are very fashion conscious so we don't know... I would love to know/see what yours are wearing?

Awww. Karen, it does sound like it was a perfect day. Thanks for posting your reviews. I never know where to find these...It helps to read to get an idea of how it might be. I hope our wedding is as perfect as yours. I read your husbands review. So cute. Like I replied to him, my fiancee is in trouble! HAHA!

We won't be using a travel agent since it's only the two of us. It does make sense if you are having a group.

For those that are looking for simple dresses, alot of designers have a destination line for beach brides. Some examples are Alfred Angelo, Maggie Sottero, Dessy, Nicole Miller, David's Bridal. I, myself, wanted a destination dress but when I started trying on wedding dresses, I didn't like the way they looked on me and they didn't make me feel like a bride. The one I chose is A-line and not one I would have picked out initially. So, there may be one you like but you won't really know until you go try it on. Either way, it was so much fun trying on dresses!

Hey,
I know it's hard finding the perfect wedding dress. Most dresses I have seen are too "formal".I have checked David's Bridal online and they have a nice selection of gowns but online only sad.gif I'm still going to visit the store, I'm not one too fond of buying online, it's just not me when it comes to clothes. Did you post your dress? I'd love to see it! and about my FI we still don't know if he should go with the suit or just a simple white shirt and linen pants, you know that very casual look. I don't know! Where did your FI get his suit from?

I did buy my dress online, actually so far I've bought two. And now I'm looking for a third sad.gif I went by the measurements that they said, but the gowns never fit, not even close. And to have them tailored will cost me upwards of $500. So I am starting back at square one. I am going to start looking at prom dresses, alot come in white and they're not your traditional wedding dress. I'm sure some women have had good luck online...just not meLOL My FI is going to wear linen pants and a dress shirt. He originally thought he'd wear a suit, but we think it will just be too hot and he doesn't want to be uncomfortable. Good Luck!!!

My dress was from the Dessy Sandals Destination Wedding Collection. It was lightweight and easy to get into by myself. You may want to buy off the rack too. I got my wedding dinner dress from Macy's for $16! I saw some great dresses in BCBG as well.

Hey Airampz, here is a link to my dress. David's Bridal - Chiffon A-line gown with split front skirt, satin cuff neckline and empire waist. I tried on a billion dresses and contemplated between two of them (this was not one of the two) for weeks and finally went to get the one I chose and tried this one on just to do it and chose it on the spot. It was just so simple and light. Though it may not be as beautiful as some of them, the fact that it is so simple will make me feel comfortable, which is important to me. I love it, but haven't seen it since I bought it several weeks ago because it takes six weeks to alter, I think because they are so busy because of prom/graduation season etc. So hopefully I will love it when I get it back too. Obviously the model is not me and I am not that skinny so it looks a bit different on me. It is very simple so I feel like I can wear a veil maybe without feeling too ridiculoushuh.gif Opinionshuh.gif I also got roped into buying a headband at David's bridal. Not sure if I will wear the headband, veil, or both. I planned on wearing a flower at first so I bought those too just in case I decided I wanted to wear that and could practice. Opinions? I wish I would have waited until I got the dress. But be careful if you try on dresses at David's because you get an assistant for just you and they bring you all of these dresses then put a veil and headband etc and just make you so exited and you feel so beautiful that you just get so into it and want to get it all. At least I did. I went to tons of boutiques and trying them on there was the best. Maybe because I was by myself??

It is so fun trying them on. Go to the store, you will have fun. My fiancee got his clothes at Dillards. He was initially going to get just pants and shirt. But they had Perry Ellis pants and jacket on sale and only one jacket left and it was his size so we took it as a sign and it looks awesome on him. I think I will feel a little better with him in a jacket at least for the actual ceremony only 10-15 minutes because I will be all dressy and he can take it off so we will have both looks.

Stores are having sales on linen jackets/pants etc now and I heard (from other threads) they are really hard to find at other times during the year so I would maybe look quick. Keep us updated on the dress search. It is so fun.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
