Anyone have the just the 2 of you for the wedding???

Recommended Posts

I wish we could do that ...much less of a hassle....although may end u costing more tho since some resorts offer free weddings after a certain # of ppl...and free seats on the plane after a certain number of ppl which is whats helping us pay for our photographer......

but talk about stress-free tho!! well almost anyway..no worrying about seating, or drunks or ppl glued to you during your honey moon, or any of that....just the 2 of you..how romantic!

Wow, this thread has really got me thinking! My FI initially wanted to go away just the two of us, and I wouldn't hear anything about it. I always pictured my dad walking me doing the aisle, but other than that, I didn't have any "dreams" for my wedding. I'm thinking this may be the route for us now...our family is spread out across the country, some work at places where they can't get the "ideal" vacation time off work, etc. Hmmm...I think I'm going to see what he thinks about this new idea when he gets off work tonight!! And then we will have to convince the family, but it would also be supercool to completely surprise everyone as well :)

We're doing both the two of us wedding (legal) AND the mid-size destination. My FI is really into the idea of eloping and since we already decided not to have a legal ceremony in Mexico, we decided to do a destination elopement on a Mountain top in Colorado. The pics will be a stark contrast to the beach ones from Mexico. I'm really excited about the whole thing! I'm not sure if I'll be wearing a full wedding gown for the elopement, maybe I'll try to find a BM dress in ivory to simplify things!

That sounds like a great idea...the different pictures will be amazing to compare both ceremonies.

Are you wearing a full wedding gown for the beach one?

this is exactly what we are doing! :) I too would like to read some reviews from people that have done this.

I'm so glad I found this thread. I thought I was the only one not having a rehearsal dinner, reception, party favors, etc.

Were not having a just for 2 wedding, but we anticipate only about 6 other people coming with us. The resort provides a free wedding that provides dinner reservations for up to 15 guests. I've just been debating on how much to do for my guests. Should I do OOT bags, programs, etc? We aren't have a private function so it eliminates the need for reception type planning.

If we go ahead with the eloping versus medium sized wedding idea, I don't think I'm going to do anything extra. FI suggested helping pay for another couple to come with us, or something along those lines and if that's the case, we don't need to add anything else in. Depending on the size of the group (and the punctuality of those guests that are coming!) it might be a good idea to do programs and stuff just as a thank-you for making the trip...and it will ensure that everyone knows where to go and when.

We are going to get married in less than 2 months. And I am seriously having second thoughts about not having family with us. I really want my father to walk me down the aisle, my sister to be my maid of honor, my best friends and FI's mother and siblings to be there. I thought that us "eloping" was a good idea but now I'm getting really sad. Nevertheless, the main reason why it will just be the two of us is due to money. Anyone else having second thoughts?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
