renting vases vs. buying

Recommended Posts

Has anyone shipped their vases or packed them in their suitcases? I want simple vases for my center pieces and feel buying them would be more cost effective. Has anyone rented them? If so how much are we talking? I also heard there is a Cosco right in Cabo, does anyone know the location?

I am renting some basic vases from my florists for the bouquets after the ceremony and they are $10 each. There is a costco in Cabo - you can check costco's website for exact location. Though from comments on this forum, I've gathered that you can't depend on it for things like vases or candles since merchandise varies so much.

I plan on just having my WC coordinate it. I imagine the extra stress of wondering if these things are breaking in my luggage, plus the extra luggage fees, I feel like I already have so much to bring.

As far as costco goes, I am not sure where but any taxi driver should know. I just figure I am going to get down there and I will want to worry about is a cold drink in my hand and haning out with family and friends is worth the extra money paid to a florist.

I'm planning on doing both, having my florist provide a simple centerpiece, but then decorating the tables with additional vases (probably various sizes of hurricane glasses with sand, seashells, candles, etc) myself to cut costs. Besides the Costco, there is a Walmart in a strip mall along the main highway between Cabo and San Jose, which might be helpful for decor. There is also a large Mexican blown glass warehouse called Artesano's under the main highway leading into downtown Cabo. It will definitely have what you need, but you might need to be willing to bargain for the prices.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
