Reading each others vows???

Recommended Posts

I have a question...

Are you or did you read each other's vows before you left to get married?

I have mine written, and he's working on his now. I have been hiding it from him for the longest, but should I be...??

We picked our vows out together before hand so I'm not sure what I would've done if we had each written them separately. With me being so nosy, as he would certainly say, I'm sure I would've made him share his with me before.

Think of it this way, do you think that if you hear what each other has written now that it will take away from the "moment" of hearing it for the first time on your actual day? If you don't think so, then go for it & share what you have so far.

But on the other hand, if you think you want to hear them for the 1st time on your wedding day, then don't share them.

I'm not sure I helped you but thats how I would decidesmile78.gif

Couldn't have said it better! I know we are writting our own vows and as much as I would like to keep them secret for the big day to make it more special I am such a nosy control freak and I will probably want to edit his vows! lol. Ok, maybe not go that far, but I'm sure I would still give some "guidance" if I thought they needed work. It is really a matter of how comfortable you are with not knowing and being surprised. Also, a lot of guys need help in this area, if yours is one of them you may want to "assist" in making some suggestions. If he is really good at this kinda of stuff then I say wait!

LOL...I would probably want to hear them beforehand...

A - because I get so flustered about romantic stuff I'd probably crack a joke or something to take the attention off of me...

and B - because I'd probably be so nervous that I might not even really remember them!!

When I get really nervous or emotional I tend to forget things like that...I've done entire presentations and then walked out afterwards barely remembering what I had talked about. Bad, I know!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
