Belize Weddings Gone Smoothly

When I first got engaged in December I thought 100% I wanted to have my wedding in Belize, but was so unsure of the resorts and places there, b/c it is so underdeveloped. Mostly my concern was - it might not go smoothly. I would love to here from people who have wed there or are planning to wed there and how their process went or has gone thus far. What are the names of the places that you would highly recommend. I welcome anyone who has comments. Thank you!

I appreciate your feedback, I'm very interested in what you wedding plans are? What sort of plans do you have for you ceremony and reception? and will you be having a band, etc? Just wanted to see if there were options as far as vendors are in Belize and in the area of Ambergris.

Congratulations and I look forward to hearing from you!

I just got back from my weddingmoon in Belize and I find it odd that only a few places get mentioned - like the Victoria house.

We stayed further South in Hopkins, Belize at Almond Beach / Jaguar Reef and it was breathtakingly beautiful. While we were there we saw them handle a large wedding and they did a beautiful job of our tiny wedding with just the two of us. Everyone there is able to meet your every need.

Yes, I'm raving about the place because I had a fantastic experience with the resort & the people there. The owner is a very friendly person too. I just loved it there!

You get to use both resorts since they are sister properties. Check it out; it's a very good deal and you get a lot for your money.

I dont think that using the word underdevelop is correctly used for Belize. Despite the fact the Belize is underpopulated, third world country, Belize offeres the best services you can imagine. If it cannot be found in Belize, they can import it. Ambergris Caye for example, is famous for destination weddings - You can look at Victoria House, Mata Chica, Ramons Village, Portofino Resort - Hundreds of Weddings and certainly have no complains.

Belize is a tropical country and thus offers tropical weddings. Having the ocean as a back drop, fresh seafood for your reception, Caribbean Music, what else can you ask for? People of Belize are very friendly, and make you feel at home.

You can also use wedding coordinators - Like Enrique and Carlos(Belize Wedding Destination, Ambergris Caye - www.idoinbelize.com) who are probably the best in town. They are hired also by Victoria House for flowers and hair and make up - Carlos is a Make Up Artist and Hair Dresser.... Perfect combination. They are very flexible and try to make everything possible.

they can be reached by email at info@idoinbelize.com or tel: 011-501-226-2356.

Thanks and hopefully, this information becomes useful to anyone.

We are getting married in April 2010 at the Sunbreeze Hotel (right across from the airport). We visited in May and met with the hotel manager who will be helping us arrange everything. Everyone at the hotel was so friendly - we cannot wait to go back (hopefully one more time before the big day!)!!

When I was looking for places to get married in Belize (and trust me I did a massive amount of research), I found that as far as all inclusive and the best ratings go, Victoria House was the pick.

Even though I decided not to get married in Belize, when visiting there, I will def. plan a few nights stay at Victoria House!! They seem very consistent as far as food, service, etc.

Good luck and Congratulations!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
