The Cost for your guest to Ocho Rios

Recommended Posts

Just wondering for those that married /will marry in Riu Ocho Rios how much was the total cost for your guest including airfare.

When did you marry how far in advance did you book?

Where did you fly out of?

How long was the stay?

I trying to get an average to see if it's something that most of my family could afford. I'm wanting to marry between april and june 2010 but can't find any pricing since it's so far in advance

Thank in advance

I have been checking out prices but prices for 2010 do not come out until sometime in May here in Ontario. I have told everyone to budget for at least 2,000 per person but thats flying out of Toronto and that is for a standard room. Right now the price for my date but in 2009 is sitting at about 1800 per person for one week. If you talk to a travel agent and you have enough people you can qualify for a group rate. I have also watched the price for 2009 and have noticed that right around xmas the price for the week I would be looking at was far more expensive and that the price dropped closer to the end of January. Something to keep an eye on. Hope this helped in some way

I'm getting married in July and most of my guest are coming from Atlanta, Ga and they are paying $899 for 4days/3nights, the guest that are flying from NY, NY and chicago are paying $999 for 3 days/2 nights(weekend). I think its better to book in advance or u will get the crappy prices, but sometimes in our case we got a better deal. Just ask ur TA when the cheaper prices will be.

i just checked riu prices and they have gone down so many of my guests will be getting a little refund (cuz of the ta we went through), but i am staying at ror from 6/10-6/15 and it cost us about $850p/p. at the time we booked air jamaica was having a sale out of baltimore, md so the tickets were $264p/p. if you look right now they are $500 so that made a big difference. other airlines in the dc area are about $400-$450 right now. i say when you see a deal you can't pass book it then, cuz who knows what will happen.

I am flying out of Baltimore and I will be at ROR from June 7-14. My guests are paying around $1000 pp for a week. I also got my airline ticket from Air Jamaica while they were having a special so that could have made a difference. The specials they have will be there one day and gone the next. My TA was able to get the discount tickets for a few of my guests just the other day while the air jamaica website says its $500 so I would suggest you to contact a travel agent and see what they can do. A few of my other guests are leaving from JFk and they also got a good price about a month ago while they were having specials so I think you could almost get good prices from any state thru Air Jamaica if you keep checking the website and looking at current specials and talking to your travel agent.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
