Air Jamaica Schedule Change

Recommended Posts

I just found out that Air Jamaica has cut is flights between JFK and MBJ to once a day from twice a day. Mind you, I only found this out b/c I was online searching for specials for my guests. I booked my flight only this past Tuesday, and all of a sudden my 7:30 a.m. flight is now 12:45 p.m. NO ONE sent me any notification! Sooo... please double check your flights!! shots.gif

I have been keeping a pretty close eye on the press regarding Air Jamaica's financial health. They are still trying to privatize the airline and find a buyer or partner by the end of this month. Now, being an attorney who has worked on mergers, etc., I can tell you, they may find a partner, but it is highyl doubtful that a deal is going to close that quickly.

For now, it looks like the business plan is to streamline ops as best they can. For un NY'ers, Jet Blue is (starting in May) nonstop service from JFK to MBJ at 755 am each day, so I am sure that is why the 730 am Air Jamacia flight got blended with the former 230 flight into a 12:45. UGH!

I will just keep on checking every day to make sure I still have a flight!

that happened to me too. flight time went from 9am to 7am. not that big of a difference so it did not bother me much. i had to book air jamaica cuz they were having a sale that i could not pass up. and they are the only nonstop flight from my area and it was worth it to me. i just hope they dont cancel the flight all together or i might be screwed. i just keep checking to see what they are doing.

They cancelled my Saturday flight a few weeks ago (from Orlando, FL), and when I called them they stated that they were not flying to Jamaica from Orland on Tuesdays or Saturdays any longer. One rep even went as far as to say that she was told that they may be going bankrupct. Because they couldn't get me to Jamaica in time to chek in at the hotel they gave me every last penny back and I booked with American Airlines for 28 dollars more(total for both people). They didnt have a direct flight, but at least I don't have to worry about not getting there.

Same thing happened to me and my guests. We are all flying Air Jamaica because it is the only direct flight to MB. They only had one flight in and flight out the whole time we have been looking. We booked all of our air tickets and all of our guests did too. Most of them are leaving from baltimore but some are leaving from JFK and than some from DC. They changed the baltimore flight from 8:35am to 7:00am. Which isnt that big of a difference, but after reading some of the posts I am worried that they will cancel our flights!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
