Booking online or with TA?

We have a local TA who has absolutely been a lifesaver! It's really taken the stress off of my shoulders in worrying about logistics for our guests and us! He helps me work the hotel on upgrades and wedding options and really ensure that we're being taken care of by our wedding coordinator. The prices he's gotten for us and our guests are slightly better than what's posted online and he takes care of insurance and transfers too.

We are getting married in November, but have already booked our hotel room. We're doing our honeymoon right after the wedding, so haven't booked flights yet - from what I can tell, though, now is a great time to book flights as prices seem pretty reasonable!

Good luck!

We're still undecided as to whether we will have TA. We may just go directly with the hotel and through the airline to get group rates.

BTW, I called American Airlines the other day and got some information about their Group Wedding Program. The guests can get a discount if they book with your group, it doesn't matter where they leave from. They use a code you provide and get a cheaper rate. Great option for those who may not want to use a TA.

i usually do work with the wedding coordinators at the resorts and usually can get alot faster of a response. also when problems occur, i act as an advocate for my clients to get a resolution to their satisfaction. I am not sure you will get that from booking online.

usually my clients give my contact info to their guests and they contact me with questions about: passports, travel documents that they may need for a minor, activities in the area, special requests that they may have, payment plans...these are services you will not get booking online so why would you if the rate is the same or lower with a TA.

I love having a TA for my wedding. I love to travel and usually plan my own trips. Therefore I know just how much work goes into planning a vacation, which is not even close to a wedding. There are so many details and questions that guests will have. I just don't have the time to help each guest plan their trip. I have someone to use as a resource and right now it is all about using your resources!

Just wondering who you are using? Are they local? I am trying to find someone around the Seattle, WA state area that is familiar with JA?
Thanks!

Hi Everyone! I too have been pricing out trips online but it is getting to be such a headache because I am quoting for family members in several different states who are staying for different lengths of time. I am interested in contacting a TA who specializes in DW (we are planning on Moon Palace Punta Cana). Any recommendations on a super organized TA would be much appreciated!

keep in mind that the discount is off of rack rates- it will not apply to sale rates so it may not allways be the lowest price!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
