Which bridesmaid dress?

Recommended Posts

As always, I can't make a decision without getting 3,000 opinions first! I am deciding between 2 dresses for my girls. My color theme is aqua and chartreuse.

The Davids dress is about $100 less than the other. This may sway me in that direction...

(it wouldn't let me copy the pic so here is the link, it would be in the blue color)

David's Bridal - Short strapless floral flat taffeta dress with ruching and in seam pockets.

and here is the other...

Jasmine Bridal

this one would be in the Bahama Breeze color

They are both soooo cute! I want that flower one for me! I need to start sewing again ... it's been years! So the second one if $235? They are both really cute ... sorry I'm not more help.

P.S. When you can't copy the pic ... you can do a Fn + PrtSc and do a print screen and paste it into "Paint" and make an image that way. wink.gif

i think it will depend on how formal you want your wedding to be, what YOUR dress looks like, etc.

the davids one is adorable but looks much less formal to me than the beautiful, flowy gown from jasmine. price would definitely be the deciding factor for me ... i wouldn't want my bridesmaids to have to cough up that much money (jasmine) for a dress they likely won't wear again, when they are paying that much to come to the wedding. i could see them possibly wearing the davids one again.

that said, i offered to let my girls buy off-the-rack, short dresses that weren't bridesmaidy, but they decided amongst themselves that they'd rather have the full-length dresses. worked out well for me since dreams cancun is so windy! i didn't have to buy them matching panties, lol!

I actually really like the second one. I think it has a great beachy flow to it. But would you get the floor length or the tea length. Also, what does your dress look like? These dresses seem to be a little different in style, so knowing what your dress looks like I'd say it'd be easier to compare them and tell you what would look best.

i like the jasmine one, long length. BUT the davids one is cute too, and it says taffeta so you know it will look more formal than a regular sundress, so that helps.

i just think the solid color of the bahama breeze would photograph better than the floral patten. since the floral is so bold and bright, it might take away from the details on your own dress. patterns are ok if they are softer, more muted, earthy colors.

I like the first one better BUT ive seen it in person and its actually not as cute in person than online...the material is a bit weird BUT i like the style better and seems more beachy. But like the other girls said it does depend how formal you are planning the wedding to be :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
