engagement ring drama & new band ;)

Recommended Posts

OMGosh! Tuesday night I noticed that my ring was making a "clicking" every once in a while so I started tapping on my diamond and sure enough it was loose. I showed my fiance and he said let me see it. I was busy (reading this forum as a matter of fact) and didn't even notice he's left the room. He came in the room and said, "Well ... you can't wear your ring." Huh? His face said it all ... He tried to "fix" the prong and he broke it! ;( *sobbing*

He was upset with himself and I was totally bummed! We bought the ring online from a designer so now what?! Yesterday he found a local jeweler and we took it in and had it repaired ($240 later! LOL).

The good news is that we've gone round and round about whether or not to put a band with it. I do love my setting but he thought that any type of band would take away from the ring and the diamond. It's a solitaire with 2 rows of pave circling the diamond and 3 rows of pave on the band ... well ... we found the perfect band at this guy's shop! It's a single row of pave and it fits perfectly under the setting and he sized both rings so they fit me perfectly (my ring was too big).

Yeah ... a happy ending and I got my band! I didn't want to look engaged for the rest of my life wink.gif *SmiLes* Suzanne

I forgot to say ... yes it's total crap! We have been engaged a year so it's not brand new .... but still. They guy who fixed it said they didn't use long enough prongs for that diamond so he replace two (which are longer slightly and sturdier than the orig) and I will have to always watch for it ... if one of the other two goes ... he'll replace the other two ... I wish he'd have done all 4 now! Makes me crazy! It's insured but still!!!!!!!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
