What to do with the veil after the wedding...

Recommended Posts

Wondering what other brides are doing with their veil after the Big Day. Are you getting it preserved along with the gown and keeping it? Selling it? Throwing it out? Donating to charity? Doing something crafty with it?

I'm not particularly attached to my veil, so it would be neat to get some ideas on creative things to do with it. I've seen little shadow box frames where brides have inserted their veil and bouquet flowers and used it as decoration, but I dont know if I want to do that.

i'm passing mine down. i had a custom made mantilla and after the wedding my younger sister said she'd like to wear it when she gets married. honestly, i think i'd sell my dress before i'd sell my veil! i loved it. :)

I am wearing a veil that is being passed on to me. I had four best buddies from college and we all lived together, So B wore it in her Tahoe wedding, R wore it at her reception, and I will take it to Cabo. Then we will keep it for the fourth girl when she is ready, and if she choses to wear it.

Very cool - kind of like "Sisterhood of the Traveling Wedding Veil"!

I know it is pretty cool, it is still in good shape the comb is only missing on prong, and it is a simple plain edge so it has gone with all the dresses.

Thanks for the compliments.

My veil which was really expensive... was ruined after one use, on the day of my wedding...

It is covered in swarovski crystals all along the bottom... with all the hugging that went on after the wedding many of them were torn off and left little holes in the fabric. I didn't notice the damage until the next day. I am a little sad, but will probably leave it in a trunk of fun clothes for possible halloween use.
