The way that I picked my location was I sat down with my fiance and we came up with a list of things that were MUST HAVES and WANTS for our wedding. It included things like a nice beach, private reception, children allowed, and family and friends needed to be able to afford it.
From there we started with the afford it idea and just got flight prices. It was much cheaper for our family to go to the Riviera Maya than anywhere else, so that's where I focused. I then got a list of wedding locations and what they offered and I compared that against our list of needs and wants. Eventually, narrowing it down.
Good luck!
