A guy I know, his roommate was on it, and one night he went out for a few drinks with his girlfriend even though it tells you not to drink. My friend says he only had 3 drinks which is far less than this guy usually has when he goes out. On the drive home he got into it with his girlfriend. When they got to their home he completely blacked out and a neighbor said they heard screaming. He flew off the handle and hit her, which was totally out of character for this guy. She than ran away, and he went to the nextdoor neighbors house because he was so disoriented and thought it was his trying to find her. The neighbor got so freaked out about this guy trying to break into his house, he shot him and killed him. His family and friends totally blames this incident on Chantix. I'm not saying that it doesn't work, or that it does. And I'm not trying to freak any one out, but just be careful!!!

So DONT DRINK ON THIS STUFF!!!
I just thought everyone should know.

OMG that's scary! I've actually had some people at Health Canada tell me that they want to look into it because of reactions like this that some people have! I guess that it goes to show that alcohol and a lot of these drugs don't mix! I drank when I was taking Zyban (which I know you shouldn't do) and all I noticed was that my tolerance went down a bit so I made sure not to have any booze at all if I had to drive (whereas normally I might have one drink on the nights I'm driving). I know that everyone's body chemistry is different so some people can react very badly, as your story illustrates!

It DOES get easier at least I think so....but seriously I think I know a little bit how drug addicts feel b/c it is hard for me to believe that I seriously am done smoking. Wierd I know, but to get through the day I say okay just don't smoke after lunch....okay now don't smoke after supper.....ok now go to bed so you don't smoke....and then before I know it it has been another day w/o a cig!

Did you guys happen to catch the Today Show this morning?? They had a segment on qutting smoking, I thought it was really good.....it said it adds 6-7 years to your life after you quit! Here is the link, it is really good........They asked the participants on a scale from 1-10 how hard was it to quit and they said it was a 4!

You can do it! I was the person that everyone thought would never quit and I have! I'm on day 4 now and I do find that it's getting a bit easier. Just be sure to be nice to yourself, I've found that a few extra naps and some pampering help (I had a manicure today just to revel in the fact that I have no yellow marks on my fingers anymore)

May 31 it will be 2 years since I quit. I used the Chantix. The only side effect was very vivid dreams. If I was to do it all over again, I'd still use Chantix. I have zero will power and it helped tons.

Basically you have to change your habits. I would smoke at certain times. I'd wake up put coffee on and go outside for a smoke. I started checking my email before I put my coffee on. At certain parts of my drive to work, I'd light up. I changed my route to work.

It really helps to change the habits. Yes the weight gain sucks, but I haven't been as sick, and I don't have that nasty cough in the morning.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
