Jon & Kate plus 8 *series finale tonight 11/23*

I found last nights episode really hard to watch. Jon seemed detached from the rest of the family. I know he was at the birthday party but it seemed like he didn't know what to do with himself.

 

It was hard to see Kate cry. Also the little girl saying "Daddy don't leave anymore" was heartbreaking.

 

I really hoped to see that they were figuring things out but it appears that they are not even going to try and work on the marriage anymore. Really sad.

The season premier was really sad. Usually the tabloids/media will blow things up to make the story seem 10 times worse but in this case I think they were bang on! They don't seem to want to work things out and are already thinking about separating/divorcing. I'm so sad for the kids because divorce is hard enough on kids but never mind having to relive it over and over again whenever they watch past episodes.

 

I'm not a huge Kate fan but I do sort of blame her for continuing with season 5. On the season 4 finale, Jon clearly said that he was done with the show but Kate wanted to continue.

I was a big fan of Jon & Kate Plus 8 when the show first started to air. As the seasons kept coming, Kate's nasty side started to show, and not just with Jon's love taps.

 

I believe Kate let Hollywood get to her head. Have you seen pictures of her before? OMG, what a complete change. If she would have stayed focus on the kids and on her spouse, it wouldn't have come down to this.

 

The kids are the ones they need to focus on, stop with the show and have them live their own lives.

 

As for Julie, I never heard her name mentioned on the show, but she was also referring to Jodi, so clearly Perez didn't make a mistake.

I agree. This show really upsets me because I truly believe that it is the cause of their break up. Kate keeps saying that she does everything for the kids but she's just talking BS! If she was thinking of her kids then she would stop the show and work out her marriage and be with her kids. GRRR. I get so mad thinking about it!

ps. On that note, I will proabably still watch it next Monday - but I will try my best to avoid it.

Ya know, I'm not really that surprised by that article/what was said in it by whoever Julie is. Of course TLC spins episodes certain ways and they pay for stuff; interesting TV = ratings. You can't have interesting TV without interesting activities, and you can pay for interesting activities for eight kids on one income.

And can you blame them for spinning the episodes to promote Kate's cookbook (she has a cookbook?!!!); I'm sure TLC has a cut of it. It benefits everyone, it would be silly of them not to promote it.

I just think the media blows things waaaaay out of proportion; they make it sounds like a horrible thing that TLC more or less "writes" the shows. I'm sorry, I'm not that interesting of a person, but I'm thinking I'd be even less interesting while chasing around 8 kids!! That wouldn't make for a very good series IMO.

I haven't watched the show in awhile... like a couple of seasons at least. But I agree that Kate has gone Hollywood which is unfortunate. Her haircut is pretty bad though. What's up with that?!

ROFL. So true! And the back gets spikier. I think I read that it's been labelled 'the reverse mullet'. Seriously, any hair cut with the word 'mullet' in it is not a good thing.

I saw a picture of the back of her head and it looks hideous. Apparently, her hair dresser is getting tons of requests for Kate's haircut. I'm sorry but this is no Rachel haircut, I doubt a lot of women are willing to get a mullet hairstyle.

On the Today show this morning, Jon told a magazine that the only reason to stop the cameras for the show would be if the kids tell them to stop filming. The kids are kids!!!. They are the parents, how about making that decision as the adults that they are. The cameras have to stop to get this family back together, IMO.
