Cruise and photog???

I have been wondering how long I need a photog for the day.

We will be in Grand Cayman from 8am-3pm. I figured this schedule:

 

10 am: put dress on, final touches of getting ready (don't want him at salon)

1030: meet FI with my 2 girls, and his 2 boys...on the beach, formal pics

1130: back to the site for the ceremony

1200: pics with family and friends

1230: buffet lunch, first dance and all....

...

200...the photog would leave

300 back to the ship!

 

It is pretty pricey, and I think this schedule covers everything important!

That sounds good. Prep, ceremony, formals, reception. So 4 or 4.5 hours should be all you need. The lucky thing is that you have a set time where you HAVE to be back on the ship, so it's not going to run over and you won't have to negotiate for more time. But many times the reason why things run late is due to the salon, make sure you have plenty of time and probably at least 30-45 minutes more than you think for the salon/makeup. Also that they know you have a strict timeline to get back onto the boat. Otherwise it may be almost 11 by the time you get finished and all the photographers time is gone. Don't forget travel time. i'm not sure if you're getting ready at the Grand Ole House and having the ceremony and beach pictures taken there. If so, it shouldn't be a problem...

Now, how many family and friends will you have at the wedding? 30 minutes isn't too long if you have a large group, or a lot of poses that you want. just keep that in mind.

I got married in Jamaica off a cruise ship...the ship arrived at 9:30AM, our photographers met our group of 35 at the port at 10AM to catch the shuttles for a 15 minute ride to the beach, our beach ceremony was 11AM (but I think it started earlier), then we did family pictures on the beach and went to a restaurant right near the port at 12:30ish then the shuttles took our guests back to the boat at about 2:45PM and we went with the photogs to a beach near the port for a quick TTD session and were back on the boat by 4PM.

 

You may want to leave a little more time for pics after the ceremony depending on the size of your group. Our day went by sooooo fast!

I will be putting my dress on at the GOH, and touching up my makeup.

The beach is next door, so no travel time there.

 

Hope we get all the pics we want. I plan on sending out a few "must-haves" and going with that.

We were looking into David Wolfe as an option, as he shoots the GOH quite often.

Sounds like you have a pretty good idea of what you need. It does go by really fast and just make sure you get enough pics of just you and your fiance. It is such an awesome day and it goes by so fast!
