We just got back from Cabo a week ago and paid for everything in USD. All the prices for things were still in USD, the only place they recommended you use pesos is at the airport. We paid for taxi's in USD, tips, all of our wedding stuff, anything off the resort we were always given the USD price.

We were prepared to get pesos from the ATM but it wasn't necessary.

Hi Everyone!

I'm getting married in Playa del Carmen in October. Recently my fiance and I have been getting worried about the violence towards American's that is going on in Mexico. I have been assured that it is mainly on the border but I wanted everyone's thoughts/opinions, especially if you are flying into Cancun and getting married around the Riviera Maya anytime this year. Are you concerned? Have you heard from the resort/wedding coordinator? I do not want to put any of our guests in harms way and this is really worrying me!

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Hi Nikki,

We were just in Playa Del Carmen in May, and our friends just came back last week. No problems going into the Playa at all.  I am always watching but I am not too worried I am getting married in Puerto Vallarta, and do not feel uneasy at all.  That is not to say that things cannot happen, but a lot of times the violence is not directed at tourists.

I have been stressing about this and wonder if this is just a dumb question here......One of my bridesmaids just found out she is pregnant and it would make the baby about 5 or 6 weeks old when we are traveling down to mexico. Is thia safe for a newborn?

That's a good question.  One of my bridesmaids (my brother's girlfriend) is due next month with my nephew.....the baby will be 5 months old. I've seen babies every time I've gone, but are there any extra concerns with newborns?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
