Hive Salon - Neysa?

I have read several reviews about Hive Salon, so I am aware of the complications a few of you have had regarding confirmed stylsts vs. who actaully shows up on the wedding day.

My question is, has anyone ever had Neysa as their stylist?

I am confirmed with Neysa, but I was curious if anyone has had previous experience.

Thanks!

Neysa was one of the stylists that did our hair & makeup for my wedding. She did a great job. Neysa, Bambi and one other stylist came to our hotel. Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks Natasha, I appreciate your input. I'm really struggling with making a committment...I'm going to have a full trial done here with my regular stylist, so it'll really be recreating whatever we come up with, but I'm still nervous for some reason!

I think that is what bothered me most. I took a picture of what I wanted - it was a very simple style that I've had done two times before.

I did a trial two days before. I made her do a second style on that day because I didn't like what she did the first time. Neither of the styles looked like the picture (I mean not even close). I wore it the rest of the night (good thing because I was in major pain after a few hours so I definitely didn't want to recreate that). When I went in on the day of, I told her I just wanted something simple and I told her that the last one hurt after three hours so we really had to pay attention to that.

Net effect - it didn't hurt (which is the most important thing) and the final style would have been fine had she not pulled some tendrils down that ultimately went flat and look really strange in all of my pictures.

So, I'm not so sure that showing them a picture of what you want it to look like will help. My bridesmaid - who had the stylist at the Hilton do her hair, looked great and her style lasted all night.

Ok, now I'm worried!

The good news is that I'm not doing a typical updo - instead, I'll be wearing my hair probably half back or down, and mabye with extensions for a little flair & drama! So, there's not much pain associated with my style.

But, I don't like the idea of someone not being able to recreate a specific look. So now I'm going to have to think about this for sure before I reserve!

Ug, why does this part have to be so difficult?! We actually toyed around with bringing my stylist to the wedding to do my hair & my mom's but I just can't justify it! So much $$!

I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed, too bad I have 7 more moths to agonize over this!

Look around at some of the pictures of the women on the board and find someone whose hair you like. I know that most people have been really happy with the people that did their hair. Personally, I wish that I went with Leigh's (used to be on the board - not our photo friend) hair people - her hair looked great. Here's what she said:

"Day of the wedding we had (against my better judgement) Suzanne Morels Company come in and give three massages and pedicues plus my hair. Omg, was i impressed and I am a nail tech by trade. They were so professional and gave an awsome massage. Did I say my hair looked awsome too!!! I would highly recomend them!!!! Plus I loved having that all done right before the wedding it kept me from getting nervouse or frantic about the small stuff."

You can see pictures of her hair (full updo, but you get the point) on this post: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t1279

I personally was not thrilled with HiveSpa...BUT that is because I didn't have Bambi. I have heard Neysa is great, although I didn't know she worked at Hive (maybe that is a new development?). I think if Bambi or Neysa is doing your hair, you will be just fine. My problem with them is that I *thought* Bambi was doing my hair until I showed up that day and she wasn't even in the country. (Even though I confirmed this MULTIPLE times.)

Honestly, this is the one thing I still get a little angry about when I think of my wedding. Perhaps I should just let it go :)

Ok, it's official, I'm just going to make the reservation and be done with it! I don't want to keep worrying about it, because no matter who I use, I can't control the outcome now, and so I'll just take a chance with Hive!

Thanks for all of the opinions, I really appreciate the comments. And whichever way my hair turns out, there will be a review on this forum!

Now, I just have to find a hairstyle to use as an example...msnwink.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
