What we save by filling up on gas down there makes our trip worth it alone. We love going to the States, it saves us probably 40-50% on groceries.

This thread has given me some great ideas over the past few months and, even though my wedding is over a year away, I think I'm almost done shopping -- except for things with expiry dates, like Advil.

I spotted these items at Michaels this week. Most of it was in the $1.50 bins at the front of the store, near the registers, but there were also items in the bins near the back. I contemplated some other items, like eye masks, but managed to resist.

Waterproof cosmetic bag (holds 1 litre): $5 [for bridal party only]

Matching compact mirror: $3 [for bridal party only]

Manicure set: $1.50

Flower bath bombs: $1.50

700

Initial luggage tags (come in different colours/patterns): $3 [for bridal party only]

700

Notebooks: $3.00 [for bridal party]

Magnetic notepads: $1.50

700

I've purchased sewing kits, playing cards and lint rollers from Dollar Tree, but considering they're items are usually $1.25, I've been "splurging" for the $1.50 bins at Michaels. I've also grabbed individual boxed playing card sets, seashell-shaped bath bombs and "vanilla sand" hand lotion from there so far.

I got the luggage tags as well!  Such a great find!  I opted for the sleeping masks and the nail files that say relax and restore on them!  Thought they were cute!

  • 2 weeks later...

Alright ladies!

I am taking a trip to the U.S. this weekend to look for some OOT finds! :) I am going over in Sault Ste. Marie (so I'll be in Michigan). Does anyone know where I should look once in Michigan? I am willing to drive a bit (no more than 2 hours over the boarder). If anyone can be of any help, that would be great!

Thank you :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
