CANADIAN OOT BAG info...where to shop!

Recommended Posts

I just bought 50 mugs at Dollar Giant/Dollar Tree (similar to the attached photo). They are mugs with plastic handles and you can add your own paper inserts. Only $1.25 each and then we are going to make some fun labels that go with our theme as well as a party picture of me and my groom. They might not work as great thermal mugs, but they are a great price!  We were originally going to order bubba mugs but as I spoke to a lot of my guests it didn't really sound like a lot of them were actually interested in using mugs.  So why spend all that money on them just for a few people that would like them.

Just FYI for everyone out there poking around the dollar stores, I was at Dollar Tree in Kalispell, Montana this weekend, then came home to Calgary and learned that Dollar Tree has recently bought out Dollar Giant up here. So some of the stuff you hear about at Dollar Tree is now showing up at the Dollar Giant stores in Canada. Apparently they are working on a whole re-branding for these stores.

While I'm at it, I also got a few other things which I know I shared in another post, but may as well share here too.

Dollarama now sells condoms, 12/$3 [60% off of what they sell for at Shoppers]- I plan on putting them in our survival kits.

I ordered ZigZags on ebay and they came in without any duty or anything from this seller:

The zigzags, after shipping, came to $20 for 50 packages.

I ordered a bunch of stuff from oriental trading too.

-our favours: cookie cutters with recipe card

[they have sea shell ones too, but my fiance thought it looked like a tree so we didnt go with them, but they are cheaper]-->http://www.orientaltrading.com/personalized-summer-wedding-cookie-cutters-with-card-a2-3_2560-12-1.fltr?Ntt=cookie+cutter

-Heart shaped note pads 24 for $2.80

-inflatable duck coasters 12 for $5

-Beer Coozies to give out on our excursions 50 for $21

For Oriental trading, all of the above and a few other things, totalled $30 shipping which includes all border/duty/brokerage fees.

I saw them at Superstore this past week. I think it was 1.99 for the regular and 1.12 for the tropical/ fruit one. We bought them :) lol. I am not sure if the dollar trees in Canada have them, but when I was in the states I found 4 packs of Trident Gum for $1! They had the regular mint kind and a fruity kind :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
