CANADIAN OOT BAG info...where to shop!

If its in your budget, rather than a bag you could take everyone on an excursion as a thank you for coming. Or maybe find something local as a token of appreciation and a souvenir.

I've decided that I'm definitely going to do them because as you al lhave said .. its just a really nice gesture and nice way to say thank you to all of our guests for travelling with us.

I think I'm going to do them in small gift bags with an ID holder, tums, aloe, deck of cards, a tenative itinerary of any events/excursions we plan for the week, a timeline for the wedding day.. and of course a welcome/thank you letter. Maybe throw one or two moe things in depending on what i can find for the price but we'll see. I think we'll hand them out at the  resort as well.. but we won't be seeing most of the guests before we travel so giving them out here isnt' really an option. I think we'll just have them set up at everyones place setting at our first dinner.

Hey Ladies!!

I just want to mention...for those of you that are looking for a way to label your mugs for individual guests, here's what we did...

I went to Michaels and bought the little alphabet beads, and waxed cotton cord in our colours.  So we spelled out everyone's names onto the cords (green for guys, turquoise for girls) and then tied them onto the handles.  This makes it soooo much easier around the pool...plus then they are waterproofed!!!

Hi

I am have the same thing with my MIL, but we feel that it is just our way of showing appreciation to our guests. We are just wanting to do beach bags, a welcome booklet and a survival kit with some tums and bandaids that sort of stuff. Trying to keep it simple since we have a small budget. It's hard though because her comment was about how my brother in law and his wife only had  favors for their dr wedding and how we should save our money and just do favors. The frustrating part for us is that their favors cost around $300 and ours with the bags and maracas as favors are less. The whole process is hard because we keep getting compared and they didn't have a budget. So we have been torn too!!

I need some major help with this!!! I have a little over 3 months to get my OOT bags together... still some time but I need to get on top of it.

I think this idea is really fun and awesome... although i dont plan on travelling with 6 extra suitcases just for the OOT bags. I want to keep it VERY simple and basic.

My future mother in law has been really supportive with everything... but she doesnt get the point of the OOT bags. I was telling her about them and she said .. i dont think you need to do that... everyone would already be bringing that kind of stuff... no need to waste more time and money on that kind of junk.

So now i'm wondering... is she right? is there really a point to these and would our guests actually appreciate them????

I thought they were a great idea and just a little thank u and "just in case..." for our guests. I was thinking of placing them on the tables at our first group dinner.

And I wanted to include a short thank you note from my FI and I thanking everyone for coming and supporting us.

Thoughts or advice anyone??????????

I understand where it gets hard, but you just need the mantra that this is not your BIL's wedding, it's your wedding...it took me a while to stop thinking of my own brother's wedding, but once I did, it made my life so much easier!!  Don't stress out, it'll all work out for the best!!!!

Hey SS2012, thanks very much, I'm glad my mom thought of it...I've put in a picture of our mugs (nested inside each other, from Factory 21 on Ebay) and then the tag for my mug...it's not the best picture, but it's off of my BlackBerry...you'll get the general idea....

Thanks!! it gets hard sometimes to remember you can't please everyone. We will know our wedding will be compared to theirs but there is nothing we can do about it. We just have to focus on us and what we want.

Great idea, AquaCait! I wish I had thought of that... Or I was getting married after you! LOL! There was some definite mug mix-ups at my wedding. Remember to let everyone know about the sunscreen situation with those Factory 21 mugs! Sunscreen will smudge your lovely monograms/.

AquaCait, those mugs are awesome!! Very good idea. I have a small budget for my OOT bags but I am defenitely going to include those -- and I love DIY stuff! We have less people going then expected, so I am so excited to do cool things like this!!! Can I ask where you got your monogram from?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
