CANADIAN OOT BAG info...where to shop!

Recommended Posts

Yeah, I had the same problem.  I'm going to wait to order until I have a better idea of how many I will need and what other things I might want from them (e.g., organza bags, jewlery boxes, etc).

Has anyone checked out minimus.biz for travel sized stuff? It's an American website that sells travel sizes of pretty much everything!

I was THISCLOSE to cleaning my dollarama out of advil today, but decided to do an online search one last time. I've budgeted $1000 for our OOT bags, and had a hard time justifying spending more than a tenth of it on advil...

Here are the prices on minimus:

travel pack advil (2 pack) .39

travel pack imodium (2 pack) .89

shout wipes (1 pack) .39

total for 72 of each: $120.24

This seems pretty good, until you add in the shipping which is a whopping $27.63. I don't know if I'd have to pay duty/tax as well...

Have any of you ordered through this website? Anyone in the Ottawa area interested in ordering together and sharing the shipping cost?

If you only want to do a 2ct advil it isn't a bad deal but you may be better off finding lots on ebay or amazon as they both have .ca addresses and you will save on shipping and such.  I wanted the larger advils as I know it is something people will use most so I thought the $2 was DEFINITELY worth it!!!!

If you do a search about minimus on here you will find a couple other threads who discuss it and will give you better info on shipping and duty etc.  I don't remember exactly what was said, it was awhile back when I read it and I truthfully found minimus a bit overpriced for such small portions

Good luck, I will ask my MIL where they go shopping as FI is from Nepean and she and her sister go once and awhile, we go to Buffalo all the time but thats a little further for you!

I live just outside of Ottawa, in Kemptville and I went to the state July 6th and found alot of great stuff! I went to Watertown it's about an hour and half from my place, I would suggest to take the 416 to the 401 and cross over at 1000 islands if you cross over in Ogdensburg/Prescott you have to take the back way and it's alot longer. They have a Walmart, Target, Bit Lots, Dollar Tree and a mall. I actually got my bridesmaid dresses there too! Hope this helps!

Hi Manda,

Actually i have been looking at that website also.. and because I wanted to buy other things besides what you have on your list, i found it worth it.. being that if i was to buy it here in Calgary it is soo much cheaper  and I can't seem to find it in bulk here etc... if you are close to the states and are planning a trip there then it would be worth it to go and get it yourself.. but i think minimus is a good alternative.. and even with shipping, would be cheaper than for me to buy it here...  the advil at the dollar store is a good price for a tube of 10 though, so i still might go that route, and then just get everything else from minimus.

decisions decisions lol...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
