CANADIAN OOT BAG info...where to shop!

Recommended Posts

Hi Canadian Oot baggers:)

It has been a while since I posted on here. My update is mainly for Alberta brides. So I have never had any luck finding the Michaels' sewing kits anywhere here in Edmonton. Last night I was there for some DIY stuff and looked down on my way to the til and there they were! I think they are a bit different then the ones other Canadian brides got this summer, mine are in plastic cases but they come in blue, green and a cranberry red. I got the cranberry ones, anyways,. I hope that helps some Alberta brides.

Also, in the same bin section, they have stand up note/paper holders that would be great for holding name place cards. They had red ones in the shape of a hibiscus flower(red). I thought of getting them but I think we will be using some white starfish for my name cards.

Hope my finds help!

Love your cups! I think I would have done the same if I hadn't bought mine already. I need your advice. Mine are aluminum (insulated) coffee cups from Canadian Tire in my colors, red and turquoise. I tried to stick a round label with our logo on a cup but it wouldn't go on the cup straight. So I was thinking of leaving them plain, but now I am having second thoughts. My girlfriend said that this way people are more likely to use it again. Thoughts? I was going to put their name on each cup using a labeller. Your thoughts are appreciated:)

I looked and looked here in Alberta and could not find them for any cheaper. Luckily, I went down to Phoenix in September and hit the Dollar Tree. I couldn't find the tubes of advil there, but I ended up finding advil packets and am just as happy with them! Each box was $1 and contained 3 packets that contained 2 pills each.   And they were actual Advil brand, not generic or anything.

That's also where I found my chapstick with SPF.   2 tubes for $1.00, all dif kinds.

I am looking for little tube bottles of either Advil or Tylenol. I found them at Dollarama for $2, but I was wondering if anyone found them for cheaper in the states at either Walmart or an American drugstore? I'll be heading across the boarder just before x-mas when I go home to visit my parents, so if I can get them cheaper in the states I will wait, if not I'll just buy them now!

Thanks :)

Thanks for the tip Lindsay, I've heard all kinds of wonderful things about the Dollar Tree! However, the place I will be making a cross boarder trip to in Michigan does not have a dollar tree, but you never know what I may find ;)

I have a question.

Are you ladies putting OOT bags together per couple or per person? We have about 30 people booked and are expecting a few more last minute bookings. How many bags do you think I should put together?  Better to have too much than too little though I guess lol.

Thanks!!

Hey, our OOT bags will be per couple as we are having around 45 people and that would be way too much stuff to bring down to Mexico if it was per person. Plus the way I look at it is that most of the items in the bag will be used by the women eg. pashminas, the bags themselves. I know most of my FI friends couldn't care less if they had a welcome bag lol! And I think we only have 1 single guy going, so he's going to get a completely different bag altogether. We will double up on the items that will hopefully be used by everyone such as the Bubba mugs :)

So you would probably be ok to plan for 18-20 bags?

It did get to be a tiny bit complicated to keep everything straight.  Basic rule of thumb was couples got one bag.  My good friend and her mother who are sharing a room will each get their own bag.  My FI's adult cousin sharinging a room with her parents will get her own bag (and her parents will get a bag).  Kiddies will get their own special treats.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
