CANADIAN OOT BAG info...where to shop!

Recommended Posts

No I didn't I had these kits before we even set a date, originally I was going to send our boarding passes (invites) in the passport covers but then we decided to invite everyone and not just send invites to people who booked (our original plan was an evite thing and then formal invites for those who booked).  I have seen the michaels ones and LOVE them!!!!! I like how they coordinate too!!!  Definitely pick one up for yourself, I have had one for a few years and LOVE it!!!

Ladies,

Thank you for all the tips of what to put in my Oot bags. Did any of you find the key cards/holders at dollarama's? I think I saw an earlier post about ordering them online? I agree, this is definitely something I want to include.

I found really nice pashminas at Le Chateau Outlet for 20$,. I am only giving those to the bridesmaids..possibly to mother in law.

Did any of you Canadian brides order or find nice maracas? They have some at Party Packagers but thought maybe there is another Canadian store or website where I can get them for cheaper.

I want to give one mini maraca at each place setting for the reception.

Thanks!

Have you checked out oriental trading they have a TON of stuff for inexpensive to add to OOT bags and they ship to Canada.  Not sure if they have them but worth checking out! Also always google for a coupon code for OT!

There are lots of threads from other brides who did the maraca thing so search to forum too you may get some good info there!

I didn't have any luck today with the key & money holder thing-ies at Dollarama...they had lots of lanyards but none of the coil-y/stretchy bracelets.

I noticed you're getting married at Dreams Tulum...we were there in January and loved it!  Are you getting married in the little chapel?

Walmart has the wrist coils in the office section I think it is 6 or 8 for under $2.  I posted a picture awhile back in this thread!

Check out this site for maracas:

Other BDW brides have ordered them and love them! They have different sizes, too. Not sure what the shipping is to Canada, but these are definitely cheaper than the ones you are looking at. They are also cheaper if you buy in bulk.

Finds at Party Packagers..I think there are stores across Canada. They have lanterns, paper puffs, flip flop decks of cards-1$.

They also have large sets of maracas, 7.99$, and mini sets of maracas 3.30$. I am thinking you could maybe get these cheaper.

Hey Tori,

I wasn't able to fid the individual shout packs anywhere here in Canada.. Soo i went on an ebay search and found one guy who sold me 5 boxes of them for 5.67 a box, and then 6.00 shipping for all of them... so maybe check and see if you can get a good deal on ebay.. I am not going over the boarder at all before the wedding so this was my only option if i wanted them in the bags..

Also.. i went to the dollarstore ( i heart dollarama lol) as i was looking for more advil.. of course they did not have any, BUT!!!! they had mentos.. on for 2 for 1$, and they don't expire until 2013! soo i bought 2 cases of mentos and i will put one pack of mentos in each bag..  I thought that was a nice find :)

*sigh still on the search for my last 15 bottles of advil hahaha..

amjohnson: as far as contents goes here is what will be in our bags - we will be doing 1 bag for every couple and 1 for every single

- Bags

- Bubba Keg Mugs (1 for each person) - with individual dish soap in each

- Wedding Week Survival Kit (includes)

   - Gatorade individual packs(1 per person)

   - Shout Wipes Individual packs(2 wipes per person)

   - Pepto Bismol Chewable tablers (6 tablets per person)

   - Hand Sanitizer (1 per bag)

   - Mini Altoids (1 per bag)

   - Blistex with SPF 15 (1 per person)

   - Advil 10 ct travel size (1 per bag)

   - Tums Chewable Tablet roll 8 tablets oer roll (1 per bag)

   - Nail Polish remover pads (2 for every lady so 2 per couple bag and 2 per single lady bag - none in the guys bags)

   - 1 Nail File (for every lady so 1 per couple bag and 1 per single lady bag - none for the guys)

   - 3 hair elastics (for ladies bags only - whether they have short hair or not I couldn't be bothered to think that much)

   - extra safety pins (4-5 per bag)

   - Sewing Kit

- Shell shaped soap

- First Aid Kit - with extra bandaids added

- Notepad and pen

- Facecloth (1 per person)

We also have Coordinating Passport Cover, Luggage Tag and Key Tag to add.  I haven't decided if this will all go in the OOT bags or if we will do a "pre-travel" package including passport covers/luggage tags or one of.  My mom collected these for us over the last year or so and they are "His and Hers" Hers being white and his being black.  I thought theyd be a nice addition and theyre FREE but regular $40 a set so I think it'll be good!

I may add playing cards or sudoku/crossword books to the bags to but that would be a last minute addition.  We have talked about adding a candy and chocolate to each bag as well which we would likely pick up at the dollarstore something gummy and something chocolate!  A friend of mine was telling me she did Caramilk bars and took off the caramilk label and created her own! I totally forgot until just now so I am thinking I may be designing a candy bar label lol

I will be adding bubble bath and the poly to go to our parents and bridal parties bags as our resort has large jacuzzis in each room and some rooms even have outdoor jacuzzis so I thought bubbles would be really nice.  I may still add that to everyone elses bags but again I have to be careful as it is so easy to get carried away with these bags!

As for printed material not yet complete that I will be adding

- Do Not Disturb Door Hanger

- Welcome Letter/Postcard (possible vista print?!)

- Resort Map

- Wedding Day Timeline

- Thank you card (may combine this with our welcome letter

- Photo Share Card

Ok I think that is all I hope that helps with some tips and ideas, there are TONS of OOT threads with lots of suggestions as well.  Here is the link to my own OOT bag thread so you can see everything I am talking about (I'm OOT obsessed) and I will see if I can find those other threads I mentioned!!!

So, as expected, pretty much all of the Old Navy flip flops (including the metallic line which I've only seen available online and I prefer to their basics) are $1.50 a pair today and the availability of sizes is great.  Shipping is free for orders over $50, and if you sign up for their e-mails (oldnavy.ca and you enter your e-mail address twice at the bottom of the page), you immediately get a "save $10 on a $50 purchase" e-mailed to you.  I had my FI sign up as I had already used mine, and I was able to use his code for my order.  They're getting cheaper and cheaper!

Hi ,

No we are getting married on the beach. The chapel looks beautiful too but we are renewing our vows in the church back here. Where and when are you getting married?

Take Care!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
