CANADIAN OOT BAG info...where to shop!

Recommended Posts

Hey ladies I just wanted to post this little find. I was michaels yesterday and in their 1.50 bins they had these packs of thank you cards. There are 6 cards and envelopes per pack and different styles to choose from. I picked up 2 packs just for leaving my tips to the WC, vendors and staff serving my wedding. 400

We are flying with sunwing on April 9th - we automatically got upgraded!

KDoyle - were you and your FI given elite seating from the get go? I organized a group booking for a destination wedding last year (I'm not a travel agent but work for a travel company who has access to group bookings with signature/sunwing) and the Bride and Groom automatically received Elite seating. Just wondering if they stopped doing this as a courtesy for group bookings.

Are you serious??? Wow ....and I paid for all 4 of us and spoke to the "groups manager" ...I have family and friends with them and i still got a better deal with itravel2000 believe it or not...really made me mad. I will see what i can do, but I assume they'll give me some feedback that it was a promotion at the time etc.... I booked in November last year...and our dates for travel were off by 2 weeks apparently ...if we left on the June 1st then we would get it. I call BS on that LOL

I managed to pick up 10 of them, but I need 20 to 25.  crybaby2.gif  I did a mojor roadtrip, and went to 12 different Dolleramas  (from Trenton to Kingston) and no luck. I then did some research on Dollerama, and managed to communicate with the Vice President of Merchandising to try to get more. It turns out they are a discontinued item.....so no luck, nor can they tell me which stores if any have any left.

If anyone finds any at their local Dolleramas, and would not mind picking them up, I will gladly pay you $4 each (plus shipping) for them (they are selling for $2.50). I am only interested in the natural jute color with beige trim, although they do come in brown, navy and green.

Thanks so much and I am keeping my fingers crossed that my fellow BDW Brides can find some.

Bonnie

PS - - If anyone finds any, they can PM me here, and we can arrange payment and shipping.

When is your wedding? Those totes are impossible to find these days. They seem to come and go in waves so I'll keep my eye out for you at the Edmonton dollaramas and let you know. So you need 20 to 25 more or does the 10 that you picked up count towards that?

Hi Pokey Holly,

I know that these are going to be hard to find, just hoping that with all the Brides on this forum, SOMEONE will be able to find some. I need 10 to 15 more. Already have 10, and I have Dry Sack Bags for the single men, so just trying to complete the guests.

Thanks so much

Bonnie

One more tip if you're not aware of it - Sunwing will give you a one time price adjustment (or at least they did when I called for the group I booked). I noticed about 3 months before departure that the rates for our week and resort had dropped below the EBD and group rate (wtf?! 30 people were booked well in advance you'd think you would be given a better deal for that) so I called in to see what could be done. They offered me a one time pricing adjustment. Worth a try if your find the price drops significantly. It worked out to be about $75/pp - $150 a couple which isn't bad.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
