I know there is some on Oriental Trading but holy smoke the shipping/fees on that site is INFURIATING!!!

As for Aloe, I know that Dollarama always has it in the summer so I plan on waiting until some shows up in the stores! Avon sometimes has it on sale if you have an Avon lady around you can check with her lol.

We bought our star fish from Michaels. They have a garland string of 9 in eaach pack. We just removed the string and are using them on the tables and the aisle for the ceremony. It's best to sign up online for Michaels coupons we waiting until we got 40-50% coupons and then bought them because they are pretty expensive. I think normally they are like $25-$30 for the pack so it's a decent deal if you have coupons.

I was not able to find any cheaper but if you check out ebay they might have good deals. I bought tiny little ones to attach to my place cards and they were super cheap for 100 and shipping wasn't too bad. (they are all really small though- 1inch or less)

I bought my Starfish from Deltona Seashells. If I remember, the website was www.deltonaeashells.com. I purchased 24 Phillipine Pencil Starfish - Medium Size - - 4 to 6 inches,  which were 75 cents each.

My order totalled $54 before shipping, since I also purchased a number of other things. The website automatically assessed a shipping fee of $34 approx, since it is ( or was at the time of my order) geared to shipping UPS. I communicated with Richard (the owner) prior to placing the order though, and had specifically asked him if he could ship just using US Postal service (USPS Priority) so I would not have to pay a hefty shipping fee, and then also be assessed brokerage and duty by UPS. He was great to work with, and he and I agreed that since he did not have experience shipping to Canada I would be his 'test case'. I paid the $34 shipping and the next day, he refunded me $20 after having USPS calculate the actual shipping costs. Included in my order was a fairly large Nautilus Shell, which was wrapped with a fair amount of paper and bubble wrap, so I would think that if you were just ordering starfish, the box would be substantially smaller.

I am super thrilled with the starfish, so it might be an option.

Any questions, I am happy to try and help

Bonnie

For anyone looking for Aloe... I just saw this post form a few months ago! What an awesome idea! And for any Edmonton brides, Shoppers has the large bottles of aloe gel on clearance right now. I am thinking they were around $4. I think I'm going to do what Lizrmt did and buy a few large bottles and put them into smaller ones. :)

I bought aloe on eBay from Canadian seller jass123456 It's avon care deeply aloe gel 150ml tube I think I paid $35 for 20 tubes and shipping was $10! So it worked out to like $2 a tube! The ones that you can get at dollarama for $2 are 106ml so the avon ones are quite a bit larger. I figured since I'm giving them 1 per family/couple/single the bigger ones are better if someone gets really burnt and needs to apply it multiple times a day

Yeah now I'm thinking about just ordering the Avon ones. Like you said, if someone gets a bad sunburn, then that little bottle isn't going to go very far!!!

I just saw these at Walmart... 4 for $3.97..! There's a bonus stick and they have the SPF. So my chapsticks are done :D

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
