CANADIAN OOT BAG info...where to shop!

Recommended Posts

I also wanted to mention I ordered our bubba kegs for guests online through the shop bubba website and once I talked to the guy ( who was extremely helpful) he agreed to match the sale price they had at Canadian Tire, 5.99 for the 20oz! I went through the company because I wanted pink for the girls and orange for the boys ( I ended up getting black for the guys). I ordered 54, and it was really reasonable, shipping was a little more but overall pretty decent price.

Hope everyone had a good Christmas/New Years!

Oh, you guys. I miss you guys. It's coming down to the wire for me, a little over three months to go. Everyone's stressing me out over their cost of their trip because final payments are due this month and they've had over a year knowing about this.. you don't know how many times I've heard "oh there's still lots of time to pay" while they blew their cash.. and now I feel BAD because it's our wedding...... eep. Oh well, I don't want to hijack the oot bag thread! This is my FAVORITE thread and now that like every spare bit of money we have is going to wedding things.. I hate coming on here and seeing all the great stuff and not being able to run out and buy it, lol.

So, I just wanted to share that I found a nice bag from 4imprint.ca - I have always wanted a "boat tote" style bag and was supposed to get a bunch from another bride on here that she bought at the dollar tree in the states, but since her wedding date has come and gone she hasn't logged on here or emailed me back in months.. so I gave up on her. I know 4imprint has a minimum order quantity of like 100 or so and I only need like 20 bags, but when I found the one I wanted, I asked them if I could get less then minimum quantity IF I didn't get them imprinted, just paid for the bags, and they said yes. :) Granted, the only 'blue' they have is a navy (where my color is turquoise) but it's a great price for that style and I figure I'll use turquoise ribbon and our tags are being made by Allurements by Rebecca so I'm sure they'll match fabulously. So I am buying 20 bags from them, which are a good size and zipper at the top like I wanted, I was actually able to get a free sample from them beforehand to see what it was like (and don't think it hasn't crossed my mind to see if I could round up 20 friends and family members to all order a free sample, lmao) and I really liked the bag. I figure I'm just going to put a tag on it anyway with some ribbon - BUT if my budget allows and if I come up with something cool, I can iron something on, or take it to a local embroidering place to see if they can silkscreen it on to my bag's 'pocket'. I was going to go all DIY but after my first DIY project where I ended up BUTCHERING our fabulous passport invitations.. lol.. I decided maybe that's not my thing. embarrest.gif

So I mean, it doesn't hurt to ask! And a lot of the time they only ask for a minimum quantity of something because of the imprinting or whatever, I mean, the worst they can do is say no rolleyes.gif

How much are the bags costing you Annie?  I like the idea of just a bag tag and no actual personalization on the bag as then I think people will actually re-use them! Just my 2 cents!

We packed up all our OOTs the other day and they did take up a lot of space.  I am glad most of our guests will be receiving the 18oz Bubba Mug Tumblers from Walmart (USA) as they take up MUCH less space than our 34oz mugs!  I am looking so forward to all our guests receiving our OOT bags! I think that is what I am most excited aobut haha!

OMG Tori, it must be getting so close for you!!!!  I was in the same boat though, I didn't want to personalize the bags, because I figured more people would actually make use of them afterwards.  Ours are just a simple green non-woven bag (like Mandarin food comes in...best description I can think of...) and at $0.99 each, I have no problems adding a second one to the OOT bag for people to carry towels, sunscreen etc around the pool...

Hey Torilynn, I have a question as to how you packed your OOT bags. We also got the 18oz Bubba tumblers, so about 40 in total, and they do take up tons of space. My wedding is not until May, so I haven't actually assembled any of the OOT bags. So I was thinking that when it comes time to pack, I might try to stuff as much stuff as I can into the Bubba kegs (like the survival kit stuff), to save space and then assemble to bags once in Mexico. Are you doing that? Or are you OOT bags going to be put together and you are packing them as is? Just wondering how much luggage space you are dedicating to your OOT bags!

Dollarama has the little rubbery watches that could even hook to oot bags and be taken to the beach! $1!

I didnt put anything in our mugs to travel as I put a small container of dish soap in each one so people could wash them once they get them.  I also put all our "survival kit" stuff in a packed bag of its own so I didn't have much else small enough to go in the mug.  I think that is definitely a good idea if you aren't packing your advil, lip chap etc. in a baggie of its own.

They really werent too bad to pack, the 34oz mugs were BRUTAL they took up so much space in the pre packed bags but with most OOTs having 2 mugs per bag, 1 survival kit, 1 notepad and pen, 1 mini shell soap, 2 face cloths and 2 key card holders I just packed them and sort of rolled them sort of.  I think I fit about 18 to each suitcase so wasnt bad.  I gave my BMs my mom and my MIL their own bags to transport to save some space!

Hope this helps :)

Hi everybody!

A little tip, but don't tell them I told you!  LOL

I work for a cosmetic company and am in charge of a large pharmacy retail chain in SW Ontario.  This time of year is when all of the various vendors start to supply the stores with small sunscreen samples.  Little 5mL spf that are perfect tucked into OOT bags. They are ideal for day trips and excursions and for golfers who don't want to carry a full size on the go.

If you happen to be in a Shoppers and are buying cosmetics or skin care- don't be afraid to ask for a few.  Be specific, though- ask for spf samples. or face cream or whatever it is you want.  They will tend to brush you off if you just say "Do you have any samples?".  Companies are getting tight with sampling, but the spring is still the best time.  I have been quietly collecting and have really great items for men and ladies in their bags!

Some good samples-

spf samples- for kids and adults!

anti redness creams

body lotion- use as after sun

they sample for men too- ask for Vichy for men

Hope this helps

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
