CANADIAN OOT BAG info...where to shop!

Recommended Posts

Tracey when were u in Buffalo? I was there Friday and the walmart right near galleria had lots of 34 And 52 oz ones but not many 18 oz ones. I had to pick up 12 more as we have had more ppl book then expected!! This is the location I first bought them at for 4.97 small and 6.27 med back in June. We went to the walmart on transit road and they said they never even got them in! If anyone else is crossing the border, I cleAred them out of their last 7 18 oz mugs but there were many 34oz and for only $4 you cannot beat it! I am excited you got them Tracey, what a hero you are going to look like to your guests! FYI- marshals, tj max also had the bubba mugs, not as cheap as walmart but cheaper than Canada and they have the same co ours CT is currently carrying while walmarts are exclusive to them

Ladies...have to share!! If anyone is planning a trip to the states, do it soon. I was planning on getting a couple of bubbas for our families because they've never travelled AI, so they wouldn't know to bring their own travel mugs...bubba's were 1/2 price! The large ones, 52 oz, I think, were $5, the med 32 oz $4 and the small 18 oz, were $3!! Crazy!! Needless to say we cleaned out one of the Walmart's in Buffalo, bought 38 in total. We even found another Walmart, drove all the way there, and couldn't find them anywhere, so do your google research before you go...definitely worthwhile. As a result, we will be running around all week delivering our bags, because there is no way I can fit 38 bubbas into my luggage! What actually worked out really well, is that I have 6 boys coming with us between the ages of 8-13, so I didn't want to do anything too babyishe for them, I fit their stuff right into the bubba and wrote their names on the tag. It broke my heart, because somehow I miscounted and had to grab 2 more today from crappy tire...BOO!! They were the 20 oz size, $13!! but, a bit different than the walmart ones.

Ha! I was there on friday, at the one near Walden Galleria, I think that's Walden Ave. They had the 18 oz ones in the camping section...oh yeah, forgot to mention that! I did check in one of the TJ maxx's, they didn't have any.

Hi Ladies! I'm a newbie to this thread and FINALLY go through the last 80 pages to be up to speed  (the best I could anyway - lol)

GREAT info on here!
I've only begun putting my OOTs together...so its great to see where everyone is shopping to get their stuff. I'm in Calgary so thank- you especially to the other Calgary Brides.
Will share a couple sites of my own:
Sooo - i will be using http://www.minimus.biz/  for all my mini advils...wipes..EmergenC etc etc
The prices are AWESOME (eg. $0.39 per item for some!) - I'll attach a pic
***NOTE: They DO ship to Canada BUT its fairly expensive (depending on how much you order I think) - so this recommendation is more for Brides who have a contact in the US. I'm lucky enough to have one...so shipping to her will be FREE and then she'll just ship to me (for much less) and I just pay her back.

Also - for badge holders and wrist coils - I ordered from http://www.specialistid.com

Their badge holders (w/zip close) are only $.39 !!
Be careful on this site - as SOME items have a minimum order of like 250

the clear badge holders had no minimum order

Thanks again! Looking forward to sharing more ideas and info on here!

Here are those collapsable, reusable water bottles another bride tipped us off about...and I couldn't resist the fruit flavoured tootsie rolls...yummy they are tasty!  But I just bought them for myself 'cause I've never seen/tried them before...I think they'd be pretty stale by the time our wedding came around.

Anyone else looking for "fruit punch" colours for their welcome bags?  I've been going back and forth on the idea of throwing a ladies razor in the "for better or worse" bag...when I saw these, I knew it was meant to be!  Package of 12 Schick slim twin "colours" razors were $5 at Wal-Mart.

Here's my thoughts on the water bottles...I bought a couple for us to try.  I don't know that it's the best option for Mexico because a) the easiest way to fill these bottles is from a tap or water fountain...although the resort has a water filtration system, I would still recommend to friends and family to drink bottled water B) there are mini-bars in the fridge stocked daily with all kinds of bevies, including bottles of water.  In addition to bottles, they have a large jug in each room...but it would be a royal pain to try to fill this bag with water from a large jug I think.  If we're heading out for the day, I would just grab some bottles from the fridge.

That being said, I totally think we're going to take them with us to Europe next month.  Last year when we were in Italy, these would have worked really well to fill them at the public drinking fountains around town.  When you're done, you could roll it up and put it in your pocket, or it has a handy little carabiner to hook it on to your bag.  Because you can't take liquids thru airport security, you could pack this in your bag, and fill it up at the water fountain before you head on the plane and avoid having to pay $6 for 2 bottles of water.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
