Yes, thank you :)

I wanted to ask you as well, why are they charging you a $100 fee for the aisle runner? Isn't it included in the wedding package?
Are you staying at the Iberostar Beach as well?

Hi Beachbum,

I think you misunderstood luvmoo's message. She was referring to me having to pay $100 dollars to rent an aisle runner. I was asking her if she was having one for her beach wedding.

Happy Planning!

OMG... i'm sorry! I am confused.

So she's not renting an aisle runner, you have to pay for it? Ok, got it!

And that sucks that you have to pay for it!!

Sorry for the confusion :)

No Problem,

I have had a few problems messaging people on here too and attaching photos.

If we stay with our existing wedding package yes, I will have to pay for it but if we choose to go one package higher, the top package at our resort, it is included along with a few other things so it may be worth it. I plan on taking my shoes off for photos after the wedding but really want to wear sandals to walk down the aisle. We will see, packing the aisle runner may be too much of pain. I am trying to find out if we qualify with Air Canada Vacations for an upgrade and if we do I get to bring 3 bags instead of 2....yay.

Where do you live? Jamaica would be another nice place for a wedding!

Hi Ladies,

Well I am back from Halifax.  What a crazy busy wedding filled 5 days it was! My best friends wedding was wonderful but I have to say the traditional "church and reception" wedding experiences only solidified by decision to have a DW (not that there was any going back now!).  I cannot even imagine having to deal with some of the things we did and I am so happy to know that I will step off a plane meet with my WC for an hour hand off my stuff and sit back and relax.

I have been off the forums for awhile now, checked in once or twice and came across luvmoos post about the ACV free executive class upgrade so that was FANTASTIC also why I love this forum.......

I dont think the jute bags will take the iron on transfer, I picked up a few of them as back ups before I found my OOT bags and have been using them to carry my wedding stuff, they have a plastic on the inside and I think they would melt.  Also the iron on transfers leave a "shiny" outline around everything if you know what I mean, I don't really love the look so I would recommend doing a bag tag instead of a transfer, that way your guests can remove it and use the bag even after the wedding is over! Plaster your monogram and names on disposable items but those that could be used again stay away from so you know that they can and will be used!

Superstore has a great deal on Plastic double wall tumblers, they are clear but have different colored lids, I got blue and red ones as those are my colors. I think they have orange and green, maybe yellow too. Only 5$...most places want 7-9$ and compared to the online prices with shipping, Superstore's prices are the best. I plan on putting on a logo of some kind on them. I thought they would be nice to use for drinks at the resort or coffee...can hold warm drinks too. The cups and glasses they give you are usually small.

If any other Canadian brides to be have any unique ideas to put in the bags, I would love to hear them. I don't want to spend too much on them...the cups were the big expense.

Side note...not sure if you are giving your bridesmaids a gift, but I found really nice silk like pashminas at Le Chateau Outlet store, off white, 20$. Another bride said she was doing that and getting each girl's name embroidered on them. I may just get their initials embroidered in a corner...just an idea!

Beachbum I can't remember but did you end up going with Pauline from Shine?  I am not her biggest fan lately and FI is ready to strangle her....

I wish my TA was 1) more upfront about all these things and 2) more informed.... she is not very helpful and basically says no before she "looks into it"

I feel awful having recommended her early on in our planning process.  She was AMAZING in the beginning but it seems like now that we are "locked in" she could careless about keeping us informed or treating us well at all!

I think I am going to call ACV directly and get the info I need, I wish we could fire her but that is not an option msncry.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
