CANADIAN OOT BAG info...where to shop!

Recommended Posts

Tori,

Here is a link to a thread where there is a pic of the same bag. A couple of girls ordered them I think. If you read the last few posts I posted a promo discount code. The bags are white with royal blue straps!

Manda which OOT bags did you get?  That is an awesome price for them with shipping and duty and LOVE that they arrived via purolator (damn mail strike)  I was looking at the canvas looking totes with blue handles (like the dollar tree ones - not sure if you have seen them) they are a great price!

Some other things I forgot to mention

- 9 pack of individual bubbles (clear bottle) $1 @ Dollarama

- Straw mat for the "shoes optional" at our ceremony comes in black purple, pink, green and blue.  $1.25 at Dollarama

There was more but can't remember right now!!!

Where did you find the passport covers and luggage tags?

I took them on my cellphone and I was trying to do it on the sly as I figured people would probably think I was nuts!

I was considering making my own soaps, bath salts or something like that to include in the bags.  When I found these shell soaps I thought I would pick up one pack to check them out!  They are actually quite nice, perfect size for the week and stick with the "beach" theme!  The picture below this will show the actual soap.

only $0.33 EACH!!!!!!  (ignore the dents and scuffs on this one, I dropped the soap on the floor)

I know some brides were talking about including candles (maybe the $2 bath and body works minis) so you will need matches!  I saw this pack of 10 for $1 and you could easily customize by printing a label to cover the "touch" side of the match box!

Individual wrapped lens cleaning cloths (good for cameras, sunglasses etc.) 20 for $1 - to the left is the microfibre lens cleaning cloths great for sunglasses to remove water drops from the ocean and pool!!!!! They are $1 each, I think you may be able to find something more inexpensive!

Canada Luggage tags and Passport Covers - just saw the sport watches to the right... never thought of it but may be a neat thing to attach to the bag so people can keep track of time! I know I NEVER bring a watch down south with me, a mini alarm clock or something may be nice too depending on your resort!

4 mini hand sanitizers for $1... they are the same size and the mini Bath and Body Works ones for only $0.25 each!!

I have been looking high and low for mini bubble baths at a reasonable price.  Our resort has indoor jacuzzis in every room and some rooms have outdoor jacuzzis so I think it would be a great addition for our guests if they were able to enjoy a bubble bath!  I found these at The Bargain Shop (tbs) 7 of them for $4.50!!! I thought it was a great find, I am thinking of putting our monograms or label over the front of what is here possibly.  The bargain shop was a great stop on my adventure, they have travel items and lots of great stuff for a really good price, some stuff even cheaper than the dollar store :)

I just checked out Oriental Trading, and I got 50 bags for 30 bucks, 6 sets of keychains (the ones that are coiled and you can wear around your wrist, they also have a whistle on them) the Keychains came in packs of 12, but I needed 65.... I am using them for my room key holder!! they were 3.00 each, and I got some crayons and water toys for the kids bags!! I then googled promo codes for OT and got a code for FREE SHIPPING! (I ended up paying 30 bucks for duties still but I still think its worth it) I got everything for under 100! and thats pretty good, its still less than a dollar per item! The code was good for Canadian shipping (First time I was able to find this) and was HB1240001.

The website I found the code on was this: http://www.retailmenot.com/view/orientaltrading.com (there were a few different ones depending on how much you need to spend!!!)

Good for Canadian shipping?! Nice find girl! I'm going to probably order from them again; I need the key card holders and probably some other odds and ends. I hope I can find a free shipping code then!

Nice! I can't wait to see them. Did you use iron on transfers on them? These bags are supposed to take them pretty well apparently. I haven't decided if I'm going to use iron on transfers or just attach a tag with our monogram.

I am just going to make tags and tie them on with a ribbon. I thought about doing iron on transfers, but then i figured because we are doing so many other personalised things inside the bag( ie: bottle openers, sewing kits, chapstick etc..) that everyone may not want to walk around with a beach bag with our names and such all over it. So we decided just to keep them plain and that way they could use them for whatever they wanted. :)

If you wanted to put something on the bags, and not have it so personalized you can just put the location that you are going to so that they have a keepsake!

I am going to Jamaica, so on my bags I am putting a palm tree and under that "Trelawny | Jamaica"   I am not putting our names or the dates on it, the only thing we put our names on was the shot glasses.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
